Huge BUMP!!!

Just picked all three seasons up for $70 from JB Hi-Fi. Haven't seen an episode yet, though after hearing so many good things about it, I'm sure it will be worth it.
Takes a while to get into it for some people, but it is seriously is one of the most under-rated shows this past decade

Easily.

I don't think it takes that long to get into it. 2 episodes in and I was hooked.

Has to go down as one of the biggest failures of the FOX Network. Any show that isn't the Simpsons or the X-Files and they are not interested.

Would love to see another American network take this up and actually promote it.

They haven't ruled out an AD movie yet picking up where the show left off.

Unlike most comedy shows this would be good on the big screen because the show actually has a long drawn out expanding plot line.

That's not a put on or a hoax is it???

Jeez that would be awesome if it came true, but i'm gonna maintain a very high level of cynicism until there's something concrete.

whats the cheapest anyone has seen the dvds and in what store?

i'm tight but really want to buy the 3 series on DVD.

$20 for all three seasons on DVD from China :D

“The arrested development movie is not dead, “oh contrare”, said Bateman, who is not actually french”. That's gold.

Ive turned into a DVD box set nerd, bought this today without ever seeing it.
Judging by the amount of pages on this thread it must be good

AD fans might want to check out the movie Juno, a comedy along the lines of Knocked Up, written by Diablo Cody, and starring both Jason Bateman (Michael Bluth) and Michael Cera (George-Michael Bluth). Opens here on the 17th, looking forward to this one as a couple of friends in the US have seen it and loved it!

Man I love this show. So many great characters.

White Power Bill - "I hate White Power Bill...."
Little Justice/Tinman/David Avram - just the fact that he changes alliances in prison every episode he's in
Barry Zuckercorn - how incompetent he is. When he looks so worried and scared when Michael tells him to draft a letter telling investors not to sell always cracks me up.
Carl Weathers - I love how he's a cheap moocher and always trying to "get a stew going"
Ann - Her?

Got all 3 seasons on DVD I freaken love this show!! the funniest part ever on the show was when buster had to get taken care of by michael and Gob and Lindsay and Michael were having a bitch about the mum and buster comes in and just swears his head off...bloody classic :D

Might have to watch it again, it's the best sitcom of the last few years I reckon. My favourite bits tended to involve the voiceover guy.

I reckon the window for a movie has gone. The series finished 2 years ago and the last episode tied everything up nicely. Just leave it as one of the best short-lived sitcoms ever written (ala Fawlty Towers) as I'd hate to see them milk a movie out of it that flopped. If the show was axed due to low ratings because no one in the US watched it, then I don't see how a movie studio would bankroll a film.

Carl Weathers was ****ing hilarious!

As was Tobias with his 'big boy crush on Action Jackon'

Rewatched the 3rd series recently. It's a bit rushed and not quite as fluid as the other 2 seasons but still lots of great laughs to be had. Michael's initial approach to Rita is a classic moment.

Can't see how a movie would work to be honest.

Such a shame to see a brilliant series like this was cut short when other rubbish (i.e. The Nanny, Will & Grace, Roseanne etc) got such a long run.

The most pressing issue from my mind is the age of Michael Cera and Alia Shawkat. It's going to be difficult to portray their characters (short of a major overhaul) the older they get.

The movie would probably be set a few years after the end of the series with Michael and George Michael returning to the family after 'escaping' them.
Unlikely they'd re-hash something they've already done before. At the start of season 2 they decided to "escape" the family and all their hassles by moving to Arizona, only to return back to the OC.

Don't call it that.
