Anyone who likes or loves Arrested Development or the UK version of The Office will probably like the British sitcom "Peep Show".

I've just seen Series 4. Only 6 episodes per series. Series 2 and 3 are magic. I rate it better than Arrested Development, and I've got all three AD seasons on DVD. Here's an extract of season three of Peep Show.

I'm still on fence about this. Yes I want to see some fresh AD on the screen again, but I hope it's not a pile of crud that will tarnish the legend irreparably.

I dunno - the series was the best US show in decades, but I thought it had run out of steam a bit by the third series - the brilliant plot twists were gone and material was getting rehashed. Not sure that a move will fix that. Plus part of the AD ethos is a bit of a soap element, which doesn't lend it self well to movies.

Because they had to end the series much sooner than planned, thus had to wrap up a lot of storylines quickly.

They got told halfway through S3 they were getting cancelled so they had to wrap up all the storylines real quick.

But they're making a movie.

Correct, and although they had to rush it through, the final episode was a cracker. Fantastic ending, and appreciated even more when the entire series is watched for the 5th-6th time (addicts in our house). Best comedy ever made.

The movie could be a cracker, but I'm assuming viewers will have to see the tv show to get most of the jokes. Hopefully doesn't backfire....

...or only diehards go and see it, and walk out in a state of euphoria like we've just had some afternoon delight.

Tambor is hardly a reliable source, but Ron Howard is.

“I really hope we do it. The reason there’s been so much back and forth is… well, for two reasons, is the business understanding coming from the studio side was not clear, so even though we were wanting to do it and said, ‘Yeah, maybe we could’ but things weren’t defined. I think that’s really come into focus in the last week or so. Mitch’s full-on commitment to not only write it but direct it is something he’s been wrestling with, he’s been launching a TV show at the same time, so he couldn’t let it really be at the forefront of his mind creatively. It is now. He seems very committed. We still don’t have a script. Yeah, he’s got some great ideas, and the cast seemed very excited about it and I certainly am. I’m very, very hopeful—more hopeful now than ever—that it’s really going to happen.”

Still lots to work out, no certainty yet.
