Fact is, they could call us losers for so long, but now they can't. Their whipping boys have grown up, can now fight back, and in all probability will win majority of the fights over the next few years.

For 9 years we have seen the Eagles always being mentioned first on the news, getting the colour photos and the higher number of articles, the biased reporting etc, etc - and we've had to put up with it because we were the new kids and they were, simply, better than us. They have never had to think about it - and why should they? It just was.

But the tide is turning - it started last year, and by the end of the year I predict that we will be undisputedly better than them. I am not saying they will be crap or laughable, we will just be better and we will have a more successful year than them.

The shackles have been cast off, and we Dockers fans are enjoying the moment. We look towards them (not up to them!) as they are the ones we can make the most accurate comparisons with. Quite simply, we don't see enough of the other teams to make judgements on our progress when compared to those teams. But we see the Eagles almost every night on the tele. They have never bothered to compare themselves to us for all the reasons I mentioned above. Now it's being shoved in their faces (largely by us on BF) and they are not liking it - again I reiterate that it's probably sub-conscious and the feeling they are getting is not one they are enjoying.

There are a large number of e-girl people on these boards who are great. They chuck a few (usually good-natured) jibes at us and we do the same in reverse, we all have a bit of a laugh and we get on with supporting our teams. Of course, there are people on both sides who are less than desirable types, but you take the good with the bad and don't take what they say too personally.

I guess the name of the game is bag them all you like on our board, and on the main board, but just be a bit respectful when moving around on their board. No matter how misguided, sad, pathetic - or just plain wrong - their views may be...

Be patient.

Even if a team has a good season, it still takes another season or two for opposition supporters to recognise that the team is a force to be reckoned with. It also works the other way, when a team is on the slide but the perception in your head is that they are still a good team.

In relation to the media, our team is slowly winning over the ABC crew, but you can forget about winning over the mob at Radio Commercial.

When Macca wins the Glendenning Medal after kicking 4 goals and 22 butts, we'll know that we are kings of our little sand castle.

Actually if truth be told, I was expecting a "don't presume you know what's going on in our minds" response... Do I make that much sense to one eyed weevil fans also? Good. Get ready for much pain and little pleasure inflicted by your cross-town rivals over the next decade or so.

Quite frankly IP, I doubt you'd like the colour scheme in my mind.

Half of it is red and blue and the other half is blue and gold (gold, not yellow)

I have to keep them separate though because if they get mixed up it starts to look like the Crows clubrooms in a psychotic fit.

My two least favourite teams. I would most likely be cheering for the umpires... :D
 
Just to clarify... there will never be, not in a million years, or under extreme duress and / or torture, the remotest possibility of me even considering a turn to the dark side. kapow - I would chew my own arm off before that would happen.

Well you're halfway towards being decent Ex.

Give you a good shake up and the red and blue becomes purple and the blue and yellow becomes green.

The white will be your face, pale with relief that you've turned to the light side, and the red will be the colour of your blood pumping through your veins as you watch with excitement Freo's domination over your former club for the next decade.

Works for me.
