Haven't found this at all. For all their success Hawks fans I know have been pretty low key. If they gloat they d o it quietly. They don't live the same world as Carlton and Essendon who are the flogs
Yeah look there are a couple of Pelicans on BF, but I know some pretty good Hawks supporters IRL. I think 2012 was actually good for a lot of them, taught them a little humility.

Hawks supporters run rampant on BF. They dominate the AFL board too.

Guess with them Winning they are very Confident because they know they arguably have the best team in the AFL

I don't want to come on this board and attack opinions, but however I don't think the entire board would share yours, as its quite frankly absurd. If your going to make statements like this, you need to provide examples.

So basically I asked the question that apart from the Swallow incident, what has Hodge done in terms of sniping? You responded that punches are not his thing, instead he prefers to "fall on the opposition". I'm sure the opposition are shaking in their boots. I watch every Hawthorn game and then the replay. I can ASSURE you that he does not, or has never done this. Hodge turned around and hit Swallow, which was what I admit a dog act, but since 2001 I have never seen from in any intentionally dirty/thuggy acts - no where near anything from the likes of Judd or S Johnson. You for whatever are Bias here. "Falling on the opposition" - just nonsense mate. Hodge has been involved in a few big hits but have all been fair, and the only other one was the Mark Murphy Jaw, which was just 2 players attacking the Ball. Hodge is no angel, but it would be unfair to him if he was looked back on as a dirty player because quite Frankly he's not. He is certainly a Hard player who loves to throw his weight around.. but has no history (swallow aside) of anything else.

And on Mitchell who has "rarely been caught out", I can assure you its just because he really doesn't do anything. He has no history AT ALL of dirty acts at all, until Tex Walker 2 weeks ago, which again was nothing but incidental, considering he was watching the ball. You can't aim/target a part of the body when you are looking in the opposite direction. It was heavily scrutinized, and he didn't even cop a fine. Absolute non issue. That is the ONLY incident he has ever been involved in from my recollection.

And the Cameron Ling tag thing? I have watched that grand final at least 50 times (I'm not kidding). Explain to me what you are on about? He was tagged out of a game by Ling, did nothing, and had no impact. How on Earth is this dirty? This has nothing to do with anything. There was no "reaction" from him at all? there probably should have been.

You have obviously made up your mind about this "institutionalised thuggery" but I can guarantee its not based on fact. Majority of it is based on a media driven perception. Yeah the North Melbourne game was a terrible look for us, and I can place my Bias aside and condemn my own for that rubbish, but apart from that, all that has come from the "unsociable Hawks" since then was a couple of soft "Stevie J special" jumper punches against adelaide, an accidental corky and a pretty funny and well deserved (im sure you'll agree) injection sledge. There have been plenty of other teams niggle at each other since. Seriously, open your eyes, its not JUST us. However we are the only ones who will have it written about, because it sells papers.

Media love to inflate everything football related. We are no angels, yet we are so far away from the way we are made out to be. Again, Chris Judd however, retires as a humble, graceful champion, even though he has a rap sheet that would cover most of our entire list. You just have to see it for what it is.

Anyway, Looking forward to the game this weekend. Contrary to peer pressure I don't hate Collingwood (Essendon take the cake here) and I watch them often, and your rebuild from your 2010 flag has been swift and efficient, in my opinion very similar to the rebuild we had in 2009-2011 after winning the flag. I think your defensive pressure could trouble us, especially early, but you'll have to keep the pressure on for 4 QTRS as our runners tend to start doing damage late as the opposition starts to tire. Our starts have been woeful so you'll want to kick a few early to put the pressure on. Good luck, but not too much.
Your reply reads pretty reasonably, but isn't clearly focussed on my point. I have no problem with your dislike of the actions of Judd and others. I share it. Judd in particular sticks in the craw because he is so lionized by the media which studiously ignores the really nasty things he has done. In our own past we have Phil Carman and his famous inability to control his temper, and others stretching back beyond my time.
This is a different matter to team tactics, prepared at training, and applied as a team policy. Your leadership even gave it a name. Just last week, Lewis was quoting Dunstall in a call to be less "pretty". You have a team full of very talented players, who are exceptionally well drilled in what they do on the field. Your on field leadership is outstanding at controlling what your players do. Relook at last year's North Melbourne game to get the best example. North jumped you. Tactics changed and your team started thumping North players. The umpires were on to it, and paid a lot of frees, so that the tactic failed. Before the end of the quarter, the thumping stopped and game returned to normal. Exceptional control on the field.
The other teams are of course going to follow any method that Hawthorn shows to work. Systematic hammering of opponents is one of these. On the falling heavily technique, as I said, it is exemplified by Mumford, rather than a Hawthorn player, but was applied ruthlessly by Lake in last year's final as he deliberately tried to injure Franklin by falling on him after a mark. Rewatch the incident and say it was anything else.
I don't have any particular feelings about your club, only about it's current tactics and what they mean for football if they are allowed to continue. i have similar feelings about the unwillingness of the AFL to face the desperate need to adjust the rules to prevent today's super fit players from clogging the game up. I know the coaches will not surrender the interchange willingly, because it would decrease their control over the game, but interchange needs to be cut to nearly nothing if there are not to be more lines on the field and player numbers restricted to zones.

Fans waving us off as we leave. Pricks aren't they?

Keep it classy Hawks fans

Happy for the Hawkers fans to be up and about after that win.....it reminds me a lot of how the Bombers supporters were in 1990. Sometimes you just don't see the truck until it hits you.;)

I suppose when your team plays so well for so long and you achieve what they have over the past 5 years and more so over the past 30, you can be as **** a hoop as you like. I have the greatest respect for the "Ärrogant Hawks"

Plenty around where I sat and My God you Feel like Punching them in the Bloody Head. All they Bloody Did is Brag about the Dawks and Swore at Collingwood players.

Make it almost impossible to put up with them.

Be the AFL Most Likely to Punch there Heads in the AFL

At the time games like that are heart breaking when your on the losing side, but in retrospect are awesome once you're over the fact that you lost. Two of the best games I've ever seen involving the Pies we lost one (2002 GF) and drew the other (inaugural Anzac Day game). Coincidentally the other in my top 3 would be the 2011 PF ;)
