Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp robbed in Madrid

• 'I felt someone pull my overcoat,' says the Spurs manager
• 'They took all my money, credit cards, everything

Harry Redknapp was the victim of pickpockets on a trip to Spain last night. The Tottenham Hotspur manager and his assistant, Kevin Bond, were in the Spanish capital to watch Real Madrid defeat their local rivals Atlético 1-0 in the Copa del Rey.

"They took all my money, credit cards, everything really," Redknapp said of the incident, which took place before the game. "We were walking round the outside of the stadium, me and Kevin, and it was so packed. The next thing there's two guys on their knees in front of me and I felt someone pull my overcoat. I didn't take any notice but then they've got my trousers and they kept pulling them.

"I didn't know whether to knee them in the gob because I was thinking: ' What are they doing, these two blokes?' I'm going: 'Let go of my trousers,' pushing them away and while I'm doing that the others are rifling my pockets.

"There were about six of them. I put my hand in my pockets and realised what they'd done."

Cristiano Ronaldo scored the only goal of the game.

Lucky he knows how to wheel and deal his way back to the hotel.

You losers fail to see the bigger picture.

Why would he be watching Real Madrid vs Atletico Madrid? We're after Aguero of course.

Doubt it. If Juventus pulled out because of his big pricetag, I doubt we're in the running.

Benzema or Aguero, make it happen! :thumbsu:

Aguero isn't going to come any cheaper. Probably not Benzema either.

The spurs grudge is kicking in again I see.

I was joking about Aguero but if Aston Villa can get Benzema, we should easily be a chance, even if it's only a loan.

It's common sense.

If you're not going to buy Forlan because you don't want to spend big money, then you won't be buying Benzema or Aguero either.

Nothing to do with any imaginary grudge.

It actually is common sense. If Aston Villa are being linked with a loan move for Benzema, we should have just as much of a chance, if not more.

But whatever, think what you want. You're grudge has been clear ever since that wonderful moment

If you're not prepared to fork out big money for a striker, you won't sign him. If you are prepared to fork out big money for a striker, you might. Villa are prepared to fork out big money for a striker as proven by the Bent signing.

Ha ha, you think I've develop some sort of hatred of Spurs since that moment.

LOL.

Sorry, I didn't know you were oblivious to the meaning of a loan.

We don't have to pay much at all to get him for 6 months.

No, it just became clear then. You've probably hated them for a very long time.

I suggest getting over it though. It can't be healthy at all.

Madrid has got to be prepared to loan him out for 6 months. Whats in it for them when they're already short of strikers?

You're getting a touch paranoid if you think I spend any sort of time thinking about Spurs. Just responded to a post on a football message board, I haven't really had a good go at Spurs on here for years now.

Yeah, seems like you don't read a lot.

He doesn't have a good relationship with Mourinho and if teams like Aston Villa are being linked with a loan move, we should easily be in the mix and if we made our interest clear, I'm sure something would easily be arranged.

Yeah, nah. Years? Please. You've been having a go at us whenever you could, especially since denying you Champions League football last year ;)

So Diego Forlans wages are too much but Tottenham want to sign a world class striker? Thats like wanting to date a nympho but only have sex once a week. Things like that simply dont happen in the real world

We should be offloading Crouch, Pavlyuchenko etc to loosen our wage budget. Need to ship one of them off ASAP. Though, even so, 100k p/w does seem a bit much for a 31 year old who already failed in the EPL once and might not fit in our formation.

I don't believe that because a club wants to sign a player on loan, his club is prepared to let him go on loan. Guilty as charged.

He's playing more, and Madrid need him more. I doubt he's available for loan or sale unless Madrid strengthen up front. Just because Villa are linked with a player, it doesn't mean he is on the way out. Liverpool were linked with James Milner earlier this week on loan (not that he would be eligible to play for them). It doesn't mean he is available.

I know you're excited and all that, good for you. But to be honest, not qualifying for a competition we haven't qualified for in decades doesn't rate all that highly on my list of disappointments. We'll be there next season, you probably won't, that won't be the most momentous in my life either.

But that's just me.

Just a question, do you think I was having a go at Spurs in my first post in this thread?
