Look, I've considered joining but can't bring myself to...

I'm all for a fan site, but WHAT THE??!!

It's completely full of immature teenage girls going 'OMG KNIGHTA IS SO HOT LOL' 'NO JEZZA IS TEH BEST, HE IS TEH HOTTEST, OMG OMG'. I thought it would turn into a more serious discussion board than this one, but instrad its turned into the realm of hormonal teens who don't contribute anything...

Where did they come from?
 
Never thought I'd say this JM but I agree with you 100%.

I was so pumped at the fact we'd have our own independent forum and so i hopped over to have a squiz. What I saw did nothing but made me cringe. The intelligent posters from here (stiffy, arrowman, noddy etc etc) are drowned out by LOLing girls.

You should be banned for sub-par intelligence/ Chat talk ;)

I actually think we're generating some good discussion on there, whilst we may have a few people like your saying 'just maybe', we do get some serious convosations happening over there.

Fact is that atleast these girls are on there and joining in the discussions, after all it can't be a forum if no one get's over there. I'm not fussed with how many people from here join there, as it's all to their own way. We are trying our best to provide an unofficial fan site for any crows supporters, and i think it's going great.

All to your own but there is some good things happening over there, we'll grow bigger as time goes on and this will be an extremely small issue.

Also, for those who don't have a clue what is being spoken about it's www.asthecrowsfly.com

Hm...There are a few people like that. if you start a topic about a certain player being 'hot' some peoples will start, but generally there is interesting discussion going on, i find it a muhc better forum to go on that this one. No abuse and less swearing.
 
I disagree - if anyone took the time to read the forums on asthecrowsfly who are not already members you would notice that while yes there is quiet a few teenage girls saying who is hot (but good on them at least they are being active) there is also a lot of long threads, asthecrowsfly hasn't got to the bigfooty MSN style chat as yet - people tend to write longer more detailed posts - that others actually read

maybe instead of sitting back and criticising - why don't you join up and help make it a better place

or is that just too hard - just remember the main reason we mate the site was people wanted one - yet the same people that wanted one fail to ever register and offer and constructive criticism


so why not sign up - make a few posts and let us know what you want instead of bitching on these boards :confused:
 
I have not posted for the last 5 or 6 weeks on ‘as the crows fly’ for the exact reason Just Maybe. There is some good post and extremely valid points made but for every good point you see 3 or 4 cringe worthy post that just turn if off.

Big Footy has the problem with trolls and ‘as the crows fly’ has the cringe worthy moments, I guess there might be room to give the girls there own room to post the royal hotness for payer rankings and that could sort the problem out.

I like to post on there sometimes, although I dont post bout Hot players etc. Anyway I get more annoyed with posts that appear on both BF and ATCF. I know that there are people who dont post on both sites etc. But it just annoys me. Anyway thats my little jibe

And you do get some good convos too. Just have to know what posts to read. :)

Oh thought Id might add, Y dont u all start posting/join up and then maybe there would be an improvement to the site!! :) :p !

Shrug, it's a supporters' site, all supporters are welcome, and all kinds of chat/discussion are welcome.

We're working to make a supporters' site for the AFC.

It's a fairly enjoyable forum imho. If you wanna see truely pathetic collection of posters, check out the Port site, that redifines the concept of have a chip on ones shoulder.
 
I joined up to that site yesterday, and I have yet to see even a single post saying "OMG, so-and-so is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo hot". Or maybe I'm just not looking in the right places. :p :p :p

I have just started posting again...on bigfooty... but i haven't bothered going to asthecrowsfly... Its just.. I think its cauz there are more people here, which means there are more people to express their opinions. But still Asthcrowsfly is still a good website
 
ATCF has got a lot better over the last couple of months, It was very kissy kissy at the start and also had a bad effect on this board.
I still think that the forum section was/is not a great idea, a link to this board would have been fine.
I registered ages ago but have not yet posted.
I often read the front page stories, (the owners could get real interviews rather than the re-hashed bits and opinion, Craig would do an interview I'm sure)
 
guys to be honest

we at ATCF really need feedback good or bad but we also need people who are willing to make it better

if you have any ideas let us know or if you want to contribute also let us know - atm we only get 1 match preview/review a week and we are know that there are more talented football fans than us out there who would be capable of writing things up.

really it doesn't matter what it is (bearing in mind its a crows/football site)

so if you hav any idea signup and let us know (or PM the guys that frequent both boards that run it )

we are looking at changing things in the off season so its time to let us know what you want/think/need, we want to beable to have interviews with players etc but that takes time and the club would want to see that the site would offer another avenue to it's supporters !

so far we have 200+ members after 4 months of being active so we are getting up there

so really if you have anthing you think would help let us know because we are keen to improve it BTW we don't want to replace big footy

I hope I don;t sound to wishy washy but hey we are trying !! :D
 
I mainly post stuff on the ATCF site rather than here. I like looking at the comments on here quite often and signd up the other day may post every now and then. I agree there are a few teen girls who think the crows players are hot really that is mainly just there name i can only think of 1 or 2 threads regarding the looks of a player which is simply fair enough. They are all dedicated supporters and should be able to go on the site if they want to and talk about anything to do with the crows if they want to. It has deffinatley got better in the last couple of months but i think that it is going to be a bit dead as the footy season is at it's end.
