Graham has occassionally mentioned that someone should start a fan site (partly in response to discussions about the poor Telstra run official site). I'm sure he'll be happy to hear that someone has produced one.

hmm publicity sounds scary, but if any one is willing to give them a call thats fine by me (i'm sure SBR_04 won't mind !!)

as for the google search i'll look into it and see what we can do - saying that we are pretty happy so far and the amount of people that have checked us out

but bring on the suggestions as we need them to keep it from becoming too boring

hi SBR i personally am a little concerned that there are only 45 members and Dave W looks as though he signed up three times so theres 43. But seriously I expected more like 50-100.

But what concerns me mainly is that i first found this sight by chance (bigfooty). And how lucky everyone is that I did . And i actually didnt know it existed and was trying to find afl.com as i hadnt been there before i didnt realise it was .au as well. Anyway, what i am saying is when i do a google search for the Adelaide Football club or crows or afc there isnt any mention of this as the crows fly site (from what I can see). I’ve only checked the first two pages (20 results) but hardly anyone will go past that i think. This will be the main way that you will get ppl to the site so i'm not sure how you can do it but need to get it so when i type 'Adelaide football club' in google we have 'THE UNOFFICIAL ADELAIDE FOOTBALL CLUB HOMEPAGE. As the crows fly.......blablbalh etc' just a suggestion as 40 members mainly from here aint good enough i reckon. 1-2 thousand within a yr should be the aim imo.

And another point, the site is too complex atm imo. Especially the forums, the simpler the better. I’m sure it will get better as it evolves.

And finally, i'm sure everyone appreciates what you've done, and i may be wrong, as i dont know anything at all about webpages, but surely you’re incurring some expense for managing or setting this up. A small box visible in the left column in all pages about donations is a good idea. If you've spent money of it, you deserve some form of donation if the site is appreciated. Is it possible to a members club sign up like bigfooty?? Cause I couldn’t see it , all I could see was a newsletter. Anyway i'm sure ppl would be willing to pay $10 a yr like bigfooty, and if the total exceeds what you've spent i am sure you can use it to improve the site or serve or something along those lines.
Just some suggestions.

What about a plan whereby members can bequeath assets to the site - nah, too tacky.

I would be more than happy paying $10 sub fees.

yes we are looking into most of these things and you would be happy to know that we have 61 members so far - not bad for 4 days ?

also I have submitted the site to google and the likes so hopefully withi nth e next few days you can search for us there and find us !

hopefully it does get better being 4 days old we hope to get much better

the only way this will work is if people log on a check it out and use it so we can iron out the kinks (hint hint)

and its looking like we are eating up alot of space v.quickly but if everyone starts using the great guys at bluenectar.com.au we wont need to pay too muc
