I wanted us to give him an opportunity in the 2010 draft but that didn't happen.

If he puts his head down, continues to work hard on his game and has a good season then once again I'd have no problem with us giving him a go on the senior/rookie list.

We could do a hell of a lot worse.

Arrowsmith firing early in bid to play AFL

WHEN West Coast delisted Ash Arrowsmith after two injury-plagued seasons on its rookie list the versatile forward devised a plan.

Adamant his AFL career deserved a second chance, Arrowsmith returned to Melbourne last year and signed with Carlton's Victorian Football League affiliate Northern Bullants to kick stage one into action.

"I decided to give myself a two, three-year timeframe to try and get back into the (AFL) system and then if nothing happens I always had work to fall back on," he said last week.
