Henin had a lot more grand slams under the belt though with 7, by the time she retired.

Can't help but feel Ash has pulled the pin probably 2 years to early - but her call.

7 GSs in the slam race may as well be 3. At the time she was being heralded as the next goat.

Henin retiring was shocking. People just don't remember it as well for some reason.

Barty has always marched to the sound of a different drum - We must realize that she was never forced into the sport, she's not the breadwinner for her family and of course she is financially secure - It's a blow for the WT to lose the number one player, however she wasn't the type to put her the sport into lights because of her private personality - Actually the WTA has had no luck with number one players when you consider the limited schedule that she played - The most disappointing aspect of Barty's retirement is that she had the most beautiful game - Her game was a work of art.
