Part of me expects Watson to play, with the selectors' mindset being "Marsh is in great touch if he needs to replace someone"
Its not like Watson has done anything significant recently anyway. And they have to reward Marsh. He can't have done much more.

All of me expects Watson to play with the selectors' mindset being based around things that aren't about output but add up to Watson and always do.

You know 'bowling dry' and 'experienced slipper' and 'experience in England' and that sort of stuff that always underlies his selection. Now that Harris is out, the 'experience' thing and the 'bowling dry' thing have doubled in importance.

Watson is now guaranteed to play in Cardiff, only thing that can stop him is if he breaks down. Bowled a good spell overnight, that was tight and economical as usual for him. Given that only Hazelwood was ordinary and Johnson, whilst dangerous will bleed runs at the same time so we need the extra bowler to be economical. Lyon was a big worry, sure it wasn't exactly easy bowling on a road, but he had no answers and given talk of turning pitches we need him to be bowling well or else Smith is going to be bowling a lot more than anyone wants to see. Siddle was quite good so he might not be there for sightseeing given Harris is questionable for the whole tour (missing two tests so often ends up being 3 or 4 with him)

After a good batting display the bowling effort has left me with more questions about the series than what I had two days ago.

Watson bowling beautifully. Sixth place is locked up.

Disappointing to see Lyon struggle. Especially since Ahmed is hardly banging the door down

I struggle to remember a single non-test, first class match where Lyon hasn't bowled rubbish

How many wickets has Watson taken in the last 3 years? How many has he taken against top tier Test sides in his career?

This isnt ******* everest Mitch Marsh has to climb here

There bar is very very low
A bar he is yet to get near.

Since the start of 2012 his all rounder record stands at:

26 tests, 49 innings', 1547 runs @ 32.2 with two 100's and eight 50's. 19 wickets @ 47.8, a strike rate of 118 and econ rate of 2.47. In that time he's only taken 2 wickets in an innings once.

He has to bowl more than 6 overs if all he's offering is a good economy rate. If that's all he can muster an innings pick Shaun Marsh and have Smith/Voges/Clarke/Warner bowl them.

Better the getting belted all over the park like marsh.
Least Marsh has the ability to belt them all over the park in return.

Marsh strikes early. Nice one!
Also, there doesn't appear to be any radio coverage from the BBC as yet?
