That's a pretty ignorant statement.

The only players you could possibly be referring to in Billings, Northeast, Key and Denly. Billings is already an international and has a big future, Northeast certainly looks England material and isn't far off getting a run in one of the shorter formats, Key's extremely accomplished having test centuries to his name and Denly had a bit of a run in England's ODI & T20 sides a few years back.

Kent is one of the bottom second division sides. Only Key has a first class average above 40. Billings has a first class average of 30. And that's in the second division.

When I wrote that, Ahmed was getting smacked by a player, Ball, who isn't even a regular for the first side of Kent. I'll keep making these ignorant comments though. I enjoy it.

I remember staying up all night listening to the BBC coverage of Phil Hughes' 195 against Surrey back in 2009 before the Ashes.. he was absolutely dismantling them. All this talk of tour matches triggered my memory !

I remember listening to him play in county cricket too. :(

Kent are the worst team in England and have picked a team that seems to be under strength.
Good move by ECB to put them forward as opposition.

Could boost his average with a couple of not outs. Still I'd back Lyon to do better
Lyon bats ahead of Hazlewood anyway, he's the current #10 if Watson's at 6.

FWIW I think Hazlewood should bat above Lyon, he looked very comfortable with the bat in the West Indies. Though it's probably splitting hairs when you're talking about #10 and 11
Lyon's definitely a better bat. Put him in any other side in the world and he bats 8/9. Our tail is the best in the world by a long way.

He was on his last chance with me a long time ago. Wasn't in my preferred squad for THAT India tour. You know, the one where he got suspended for a Test and then captained the next one.

Having Watson continually picked makes you feel that the Aus selectors see the cricket team as an extremely delicate flower that needs his particular skill set or it can't flourish. As there are 10 other men in the team, you think that they'd have given someone else a decent run by now. Maxwell has had odd tests here and there, Mozz has had two maybe three? You think they'd have stuck with one of these guys (even in place of Marsh) instead of every single player being viewed as a fill-in for a player that offers at best economy when bowling and a regular 20 runs an innings.

However, as he is likely to be picked, I hope he kicks arse at Cardiff.

Wha do people see as our best bowling lineup?

You'd think Johnson is a lock. Hazlewood has to be there, Lyon is our best spinner. I think the selectors would be tossing up between Starc and Harris. For mine, Harris has to be in if he's fit. Even when he's not 100% he's proven he can have a major impact. But Starc's recent form has been too strong for the selectors to ignore and I think they will go with him.

I'm picking Harris, Johnson and Hazelwood to start with. Starc just seems to be a bit too hit and miss even though he has improved. I also don't like he and Johnson in the same side

Cheers mate will keep checking in with it...need something to distract me from the footy
At least you have us next week.
