Picking Siddle ahead of Lyon and then Watson ahead of Marsh would make no sense given that the main reason they want to choose Watson is for his tight bowling, which is pretty much what Siddle would provide.

It may be a choice between Marsh and Siddle compared to Watson and Lyon. That seems to be what I can deduce from their logic.

Personally I would choose Marsh and Lyon...

Exactly the point I was going to bring up, playing Siddle negates any advantage Watson has over Marsh.

Would be really disappointed if M.Marsh doesn't get the spot, in really good form and is the future.

So presuming it's a seamer over there I could nearly see us going for Siddle over Lyon provided we had some decent part time spin options. Clarke's bowling is very good but I'm sure he won't risk the back, Smith is a genuine part timer, um not much else so Lyon must play. And like someone said earlier there probably haven't been genuine all round options previously, but now Marsh M has emerged there's no excuse for playing Watson anymore.
