Seriously though, where does McDermott say that? Unless I've missed it, that's purely the author making things up. There's no way we're picking Watson, or MMarsh for that matter, to bowl Harris like spells.

Nah. Watto can totally bowl like Harris

Obviously we go

6. Watson
7. M.Marsh
8. Haddin+
9. Johnson
10. Hazlewood
11. Lyon

He's hasn't recently. But he had a couple of good spells against Pakistan (2009?) and that spell in South Africa.

I don't see him repeating it.

To be fair if they both bowled today, Watto will probably be able to match this one kneed, forced to retire Rhino

Drop Rogers. If you can't roll the arm over what are you doing in the side?

And we do have an experienced opener in Shane Watson

I think it's announced at the coin toss isn't it?

Maybe officially? I thought there was normally a very strong indication of the team before that though? Or at least a XII?

Nervous as **** that they will not play Lyon and/or M Marsh after that article.

Not backing our number one spinner is what cost us the Ashes in 2009
Lyon has to play

To a degree but surely our number 1 spinner can get a few wickets in tour matches to not face the sack.

If we are not playing Lyon play Ahmed.

The same Ahmed that got out bowled by Smith, if we're choosing a specialist spinner for the test its gotta be Lyon.

We need a spinner in some way, not that I rate Lyon much. If we gamble on Ahmed I can see the reasons

I haven't been following this, is there a way they are pretty likely to go on what the final 11 will look like or is it very much up in the air?
11 is mostly set apart from Watto/Mitch Marsh for number 6, as far as I'm aware of.

“If you look at the players, we have England’s best-ever bowler in Jimmy Anderson, the best-ever batsman in Alastair Cook, we have Jos Buttler and Joe Root who are both unbelievable players,” he added.
Flintoff is a ****.

I always seem to get more pumped for the ashes when it's in England for some reason.

Yeah it's a bigger deal for me too when it's away. Something more epic about challenging them there. The hostility, adapting to the Duke, the huge swing.

****ing pumped. Only thing that eclipses the first morning of the first Ashes test for me is the AFL grand final. Even then if the Swans aren't there I'd prob take the Ashes.
