Not surprised as he has been bowling crap and a lot slower than his usual self which screams to me that he is just going through the motions without any real effort or heart in it.

Aussies are making him pay as well which is great.
England's bowlers are historically terrible when they come out here. It's the reason that they regularly get whitewashed in Australia. Whilst in recent times we have surrendered the Ashes to,them in England we at least manage to win at least one test. England are the perfect example of ho e town heroes

We have some available footage of Larwood from matches where he is described as bowling fast and he's nowhere near as fast as the genuinely quick bowlers from the modern era.
The thing that clouds people would be the relative speed, him and others would feel faster as they are at the peak of what's possible to face

Interesting to think as well what speeds those of old would get to with modern sport science and exercise science

Yeah, I've been pleasantly surprised by how MMarsh has gone I have to admit, but I don't have much time for people who are hoping for him to fail just because he has failed in the past.

I've not been watching the thread today, are people pretending they didn't shit on Mitch Marsh yet?
I don't get this. Been interesting to watch people change their opinions and other people trying to mock people that were criticising the Mitch Marsh selection as if people didn't have a reason to doubt him. Same with Sean Marsh and Paine.

Difference between doubting and hoping one of our players fails.

It's one of those great hypotheticals, how batsmen would have gone if they played in different eras.

I reckon the 80s and early 90s was one of the toughest eras for batsmen though, not only the Windies bowlers but Pakistan had a lethal fast bowling attack with Imran Khan, Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Shoaib Akhtar and even NZ had Hadlee who was one of the all time great fast bowlers, not to mention the underrated Ewen Chatfield who would plug up the other end with his relentlessly accurate fast mediums. Martin Snedden was no slouch either.
You should've stopped at Hadlee, who was an all-time great. Dead set superstar even if our crowds did call him a wanker...lol. Chatfield averaged 32 with the ball at less than 3 wickets a Test. Snedden was very average.

I don't disagree with this. Think some people have a victim complex though, and tend to grossly exaggerate this idea that people hope he fails. For example, "watch Mitch Marsh get out for less than 10" isn't the same as saying "I hope Mitch Marsh gets out for less than 10". I may have missed some posts though.
