Point of order. If session 1 is rained off, does session 2 effectively become session 1....and session 3 session 2?Session 1 for the PP thanks DW with Boland and his run a ball century and 150 run partnership with Green to restore some respectability ........ and get the win
No.Point of order. If session 1 is rained off, does session 2 effectively become session 1....and session 3 session 2?
I will cease my session queries hereinafter.....
Make mine session 2 pleaseOK I've got the following powerplays locked in:
Session 1 - ossie_21, Flamethower, Next Waiting
Session 2 - Cudi
No word yet from mofra and Snarls.
But I can't get 9 Gem and there's a delay on SEN cricinfo. Would you accept 2nd ballNo.
Rain interruptions are just bad luck, even if your whole power play session is wiped out without a ball being bowled.
However I will be magnanimous enough not to declare you irrevocably locked in until the first ball is bowled. That is, if the session start is delayed because of rain you may still cancel or change your nomination after the official start time for that session, as long as no ball has been bowled.
I just checked the cricinfo site and can see why you asked that question! Bucketing down in Birmingham.Point of order. If session 1 is rained off, does session 2 effectively become session 1....and session 3 session 2?

flamethrower and ossie_21 you might also want to reconsider.
On reflection, it seems fairer that if no ball is bowled for the entire session your power play is void and you get another chance. However I repeat if they bowl even one ball before you change your pick then it's just bad luck. So best to get in early, just in case!
Over to you, fellas...
OK so at this stage the Power Plays I have are:First session officially washed out according to Cricinfo at the ground. Lunch at 12.30. Session 2 to start at 1.10pm local time.
In the event that rain impacts to the point that only one session is possible for the day (say 40 overs), would that mean that you'd get your power play regardless of whether you fell asleep or not and regardless of the session you nominated. Session 1 - nil
Session 2 - Cudi, Next Waiting, Flamethrower

Tell your friend not to be so shy. Power Play: Each test you get to nominate ONE session where you get double points for your team. eg Day 1 Session 1, Day 4 session 2, etc. You can nominate your PP session right up to the resumption of play for that session (before first ball bowled). If you fail to nominate a session you get the last session of the match, however short or long that session may be. Rain interruptions to your Power Play are just bad luck.
I'll tell my friend to read the fine print next time. He's hopelessTell your friend not to be so shy. I'm very approachable.
But yes, if there's only one session available and you have a Power Play in hand it would be applied to that last session (see extract below from the OP).
