Here are the final entries for Test 2 (no two teams are identical :thumbsu:):

And here are the most popular selections:

Here's the lunchtime progress score for Day 1.

I'm trying out this format and if it works OK I'll put it into a Google Spreadsheet during this test. I can easily update a linked Google Spreadsheet from my phone while I'm away during the third and fourth tests. It'll then update here dynamically whenever I update the player scores in the bottom table below. It saves having to clutter the thread with new PNGs/JPEGs (like the one below) every time I post a score update. In fact I won't have to do a new post at all.

You will only see the update if you refresh the scoreboard page of course.

So now you might be able to see why I had to get rid of the session power play that we had in the First Test. Too complex.

Scores in the "TOTAL Pts" column are rounded down - eliminating decimal fractions for readability.

Actually it turned out to be a breeze to import the spreadsheet into Google. So here it is. I'll update it periodically this session so I can test the changing scores. The leaderboard might not always be in sorted order of highest to lowest as that's still a manual process (but I'll investigate if there's a way to automate it).

And don't forget to refresh the page if you want to see if I've updated the score.
Your feedback would be appreciated if you have any difficulties or if it simply doesn't display.

EDIT: I can immediately see there's a bit of formatting to be fixed with column headers etc but nothing too serious so far.

Scoreboard has been updated for stumps on Day 1. See above.

chez_ferret killing it so far, but it's early days. The gloss went off RandomDog once Warner got castled.

Damn you and your last minute rule changes dogwatch :p

I’ll activate power play this session
Day 2 session 1
Ah, you might have missed the rule change for this test, Cudi. No power play sessions this test, just a power player. Seeing you didn't nominate one yours is your first named player from the first test team, i.e. Smith. Not too shabby a PP seeing he's approaching a century.

I think this is what ossie_21 was raging at the clouds about ... but I'm not sure. (You never know with ossie. ;))

ohh my bad! havent been online much this week but I like this rule change :D

Looks like I’ve missed this and been ****ed over

Carey as Power player (would have chosen Smith if I logged on and saw the new rule) and now after 100 consecutive tests, the goat has done an old man’s calf….footy or cricket, I’m completely out of pie form

Stumps Day 3. chez_ferret has regained and extended his lead after briefly relinquishing it. His team is loaded with batters though, so he needs to get a bit of a break on the rest before the Australian bowlers start picking up wickets. Bulldoge is the one to watch. Could still be a close finish.

EDIT: Updated for STUMPS DAY 4.

Pomes need 94 runs off 360 balls. 4 wickets in hand. Stokes on a hundred plus and seeing it like watermelons. Confidence levels?

Brilliant from Stokes. He’s extraordinary. Haven’t seen power and dominance like that since Viv Richards. Good from Broad too. Some dumb bowling earlier that just fed Stokes his favourite shot could have lost them this game. [As I type this, Stokes is out. Wot an innings!]

Lose this and it would be hard to win another test in this series.

Mind you it would have been over already if Lyon wasn’t injured.

Ponting is an outstanding commentator. Proudly Australian of course but he doesn’t let his allegiance colour his analysis and criticisms. Very fair, very knowledgeable and very very astute.

Commentary for this series is a bit of an upgrade generally on the local fare in recent years.

I liked that a number of Australian players went up to Stokes after his dismissal to acknowledge his innings. A show of respect for your opponent. At the end of the day we play sport coz we love it and in tests you are literally testing yourself against the best. The harder your opponent the more likely it is that you have to extend yourself, perhaps beyond what even you might think you are capable of, to win...or compete.

It always sh1ts me when footy players sit on the ground crying after losing or hanging their heads like the world has ended. I might also be one of the few who doesn't have a problem with opposition players having a chat, a laugh or whatever after the game. It's not like you can catch up in the rooms after for a beer.

Pretty inconsiderate of them to delay the end. I want to flick over to watch the end of tonight’s stage in Le Tour. 😡
EDIT : Just realised I can watch it on the SBS app 😀
