I can't believe the hypocrisy of Pommy fans, continuing to bring up the Bairstow run out at Lords. They conveniently fail to mention the fact that Bairstow himself tried to do exactly the same thing to Labuschagne a couple of days earlier....... but of course it's only poor sportsmanship when the Aussies do it.

Cause the Aussie Cricket Team has never been accused of bad sportsmanship/cheating 👎

Another solid reason I'll be passionately supporting England in The Ashes.

I reckon one day of unabashed English rooting and I am gone from this thread Dins.

Hopefully at any rate its a great first test and series (mostly unaffected by weather)

C'mon Piastri's!
Beat the shit eating grin Lando's with Zac Brown cuddles.
This obscure rivalry reference is something grand to behold. Almost 2nd test title worthy

Wait. I don't know many of them. Are you saying the thing about them not washing themselves and poor dentile hygiene is actually true?

Filthy!

Yes. Poms are filthy, due to the weather, and the cost of soap. Also their bathrooms. They run 1 bathtub of water for all people on the house.

Surprising that they conserve water when it rains there nearly every day.

What a filthy lot of campaigners. I didn't think it was true, just a joke.

You can say what you want about the travelling English fans here (esp the Barmy Army) but they pump much loved thousands and thousands of dollars into our economy when they come out here.

And yeah I actually had some 'adventures' with a Leeds Supporting Barmy Arny member about 12 or so years ago.

If you get on their bad side you are toast, but if you take the time to be friendly (esp patronising) they are are absolutely smashing company.

Helps a bit if you are a bit knowledgeable about soccer (English Football) tbh

I'm just here to laugh at the thread title. I've got one happy memory of my British ex-wife at least - we'd argue over the correct name for flat rubber footwear...

Dude - I would say that the number of Aussies who justify what Greg Chappell did that day would match the number of Carlton flags this century.

Unfortunately there is still heaps who support Warner and Smith's disgraceful ball tampering.

Anyhow I hope the first test actually goes for 5 days for a change. I will be watching the first couple of sessions

Again, Warner would be as popular with a majority of Aussie cricket fans as a Collingwood scarf at Windy Hill on Anzac Day, and most people are glad he's gone.

Smith made a mistake - which he's paid for.

The older original guys are ok, some of them are still around from 94/95 when the BA started at the AO test that year.

But now, a lot of them are typical angry Poms who once they get on the turps just want a fight.

I joined a group of them to watch a Leeds United game at an Inner City Pub at like 2 am in the morning for back when we were the league 1 (third tier of English football) and every time we scored, the lads (between 20 -35) kinda went loco and started smashing the Christmas Tree and annoying other punters (who were there to watch Manchester United or the F1 Monaco)

This was on Boxing Day lol

By the time the game ended there was nothing left of the Christmas Tree and all us Leeds fans were banned for life from that establishment lol

#goodtimes

I suppose you're proud of that.

I'd of shoved the tree up your giant ring.

It was an impressive feat given the tree was about 14 foot tall lol

Would suggest you lighten up brah
