Good intensity, strong tackler and omg he can kick the ball straight unlike 90% of our team (except at goal of course).

Keep him in the side imo.

Seems a good mark for his size too. One of the few with pace and can lace it to a target.

The inflexibility of our matchday tactics were highlighted yesterday - why wasn't Hams tried in the midfield instead of the butchers of plodsville (aka Priddis & A Selwood)?

Blind Freddy can see we are in desperate need of goal scorers and Hams just isn't that guy. Not a bad depth player I guess but not the solution to our forward line problems.

I thought similarly until yesterday.

Hams is a tough little buggar, he is improving with each game and I think he should be given more opportunity ATM.

I loved the way he gave it to the Freo players in the first half, was one of the players to put Freo on the back foot early.

His work in traffic to show composure and work hard to get a good kick to a free opponent is outstanding and an example to the remainder of the team. Worth a goal on its own inside 50.

A hand ball to a player under more pressure or a long kick and hope is not what we expect from experienced players. Unfortunately there is tooo much of it in our team.

All hail the Ham.

been a pretty decent start to his career. gotta remember he is only 3 games in.

his kicking can be quite good, although it's a bit inconsistent - hopefully just a matter of nerves and/or getting adjusted to the added pace of the game.

his pressure is fantastic.

it's unfortunate he's not another 2 or 3 inches taller because he just seems a bit undersized. can't do much about that though, and it hasn't stopped many players from succeeding.

we'll start to get more of an idea in another 10 or so games as to what sort of impact he can have on the contest.

Loving this guy. One example that sticks in my mind was in the first half of the game - the ball was on the ground, Hams one side about 5 metres away and a Freo player on the other side about the same distance. So Hams just ran flat out at the ball, picked it up cleanly with one-grab and with intent, and then at the last second span out of the coming tackle. It took me by surprise because no one has been playing with that raw, direct intensity and has been that clean at the ball in the last few weeks. Bloody simple way to go about your football, but effective.

Thought he has been very good since he came in

Was a little quiet against Essendon - although his kicking was a feature.

Nullified Kennelly last week - and again put pressure on in the forward line this week.

If he converts that 0.4 - to 3.1 - he becomes a top 3 player on the field for us.

definitely a shining light in otherwise a largely pathetic side. keep the kid and chuck stevenson and shepperd in.

yep, my sentiments exactly...sheppard,stevens/stevenson - from what ive heard on here, they bring at least the same amount of grunt and skills (as Hams) to the game..and thats got to be heading in the right direction (esp. if they step up,and takeover from a couple of plodders. ;))

Going well. Good attack on the footy and is actually pretty polished with the footy. In all honesty will probably battle for a spot when Shuey returns but in saying that is versatile enough to push to a back pocket if needed. Has added something to the list.

yep I'm enjoying watching this bloke, he reminds me of Michael Braun and is one of a very small group that deserve a pat on the back for his intensity and actually thinking before disposing of the ball. I dont see why Shuey would be a threat to him getting any games though surely there would be others to get the arse before Hams
