Seeing as though we've seen the Sri Lankan's perform quite well in the last month, interested to see how they go in the Asia Cup.

Are they showing the games on Foxtel?

biggest Non event on the Calender surely? especially for the long summers that Sri Lanka and India have had. With the IPL and that tour in England after the WC when was their last 'break'?

But the fans over there go Nutso for any cricket. Watch India come out and return to form in better conditions, SRT to hit a century against Bangas on a Road and Indian selectors to wonder what all the hoohah about them being shit was all about, citing Dravid's retirement as the only necessary change to their lineup.

Hasn't hit a century(or half century) in an Away game since 14 sept 2009. (in Sri lanka, of all places.....)
Hasnt hit a half century since the Semi in the WC against Pakistan.
Hasnt hit a century since the start of the WC (vs Saffas)

Also, gone 22 test innings without a Century. at this point in Ponting's slump (I.e start of Saffa tour) people were calling for his head...

Yeah but India have played 2 or 3 whole away series recently.

They must have 30 tests in a row at home including plenty against minnows coming up. Surely he and Sehwag will be able to rack up the runs.

Pitches don't affect a person's mental state.

Of course they do. Look at the difference in batsmen's mindset when they play on a pitch like the latest Hobart test and when they are playing on a road in Ahmedabad.

Not what I was talking about.

Way back last year, when the Windies were touring India, the Test in Mumbai was on a flat, flat pitch.

Tendulkar was seemingly cruising to his century, thus providing a fairytale ending to the contrived milestone of one hundred hundreds.

I predicted he would get out for 94 when he was on about 70 something.

He got out for 96.

It's a mental block he is struggling to overcome. Regardless of the pitch.

True, but while in australia he didn't look like making it because of both his mental issues, but also the pitch made all the Indians gaga.

At least in the subcontinent you remove the pitch as a factor. And bangladesh isn't world class like Australia and sri Lanka.....

The difference is that Sachin had probably his best ever year in 2010 and carried that form into early 2011 before his current slump started. Ponting hadn't had a decent year in test cricket since 2008.
