Re: General Player Discussion

Just wanted to ask if it is possible to still join SC leagues seeing as the Head to Head matches have not began yet?

Does anyone hate/dislike a particular player that punishes them every week as they don't have them in your team and refuses to trade them in.

Mine is Malceski, I must say he is playing really well but as I don't have him, it really annoys me and as he is at the awkward price and premium status, I can't trade him in..

Every week Malceski punishes me..... oh well....

I had to vent my anger somewhere....LOL

Malceski for me too. Not worth trading in but would love to have him.

He was the only mid-priced back worth getting at the start of the year, I'm surprised everyone didn't jump on him. Instead, we get team after team with Kennelly (too expensive), Ladson (poor preseason) and Hunt (low ceiling). The good old BigFooty consensus at work I suppose.

Mal ticked all three boxes, and even with a slight concern over his role in the team he was definitely a better gamble.

Yeah, maybe people actually took the advice of the Little Black Book when it told people to bury him (worst tip ever).

I personally have Kennelly and Ladson as well. I can't afford anything else, I can't even afford Hunt over Ladson, so my hand was forced. Too lazy to reshuffle team.

I'm another that doesn't have Malcheski. Ouch!

Was in and out of my pre season team but I didn't trust him and thought Kennelly would be a better option as he would be an easier platform to upgrade to a premium.

As it turns out I downgraded Kennelly > Silvagni last week and Tippet > J.Brown so it sort of worked out ok having Kennelly for a a brief time I suppose.

I did pick Beau Waters though who has been amazing value for $151,000. Can't get em all right I suppose.

+ 1

Chose Kennelly and Hunt over Mal. But can't justify using another valuable trade to bring him in.

i feel your pain boys....

Every single game it hurts me and it's not like I can avoid Swans game as I have ROK and Goodes

I'm honestly surprised more people didn't have Mal... I guess I too was tossing up between the big few smokeys in the back (Ladson, Mal, Kennelly, Waters, Scohenmakers etc etc). My thinking revolved around:

Malceski: being over his injury (i.e. mentally over it) which the NAB cup showed he probably was.
Kennelly: Easing into it quick enough... He's still got to get back up to speed and I'm not writing him off just yet.
Hunt: may not rise too much further but his role for me was to be a consistent points scorer for a reasonable price.
Waters:
Over his Injury and having the potential to play to a suitable gameplan for style of play. Of which I believe both boxes are checked.

I reckon the swans are also just flying under the radar a bit atm... I'm pretty excited about the potential from what I've seen.

No you can't I'm afraid.

I stand by my decision not to have Malceski. I chose Hunt and Waters as my low priced starters in my defense and I am glad I did (both are doing what I wanted them to do from day one). Malceski has been better but he burnt me badly last season which turned me off. Also, I was not confident going in that he will sustain his spot with Shaw, Kennelly, and Mattiner all playing off half back. Was it the wrong decision? At this stage I guess so, but I'll save my judgement until round 22 when he's backed it up for a season.

This is my defence

Enright (ave 118), Hodge (123), Gram (92), Malceski (127), Hayden (72), Maguire (83) Hunt (74), Ladson (73), , Waters (88)

Who do i bench?
Yet to start Waters , only started Maguire this week, I like hayden because has the ability to score big and Hunt and Ladson are gonna be consistant most weeks.
