My team will be looking something like this:
B: Hodge, Malceski, Enright, Shaw, Hargrave, Gram, Waters.

M: Ablett, Barlow, Dal Santo, Cross, Stanton, Martin.

R: Sandilands, Roughead

F: Brown, O'Keefe, Pavlich, Higgins, Didak/Boomer, Franklin, Podsiadly.

Is this a decent enough 'near finished' team? With the excepton of Roughead who is likely to be traded to Hmac, Kruzer or Clark.

two emergencies in one position

OK i probably sound like an idiot for not knowing the answer..
but if i have Maguire on the field who wont score and two
emergencies in Silvagni and Davis who will score, will the highest scoring player be substituted in??

if so this would be a much better option for me than choosing one of those players(SCOS and Davis) and taking a risk as to who will score more.

Re: two emergencies in one position

Good choice to only choose one.

There are three outcomes:

1) No late withdrawals in which case you don't need an emergency, but of course you wouldn't have peace of mind, so in this case you would still want at least one.

2) One late withdrawal in which case it is:
choosing both of the emergencies where you have a 100% chance of copping the lower score
VS
choosing one and letting it become a fifty-fifty chance of getting the better of the two.

3) Two or more late withdrawals: Yes in this case you would be better off selecting both bench players as emergencies

Out of those three, what is the most likely to occur?
Answer is (1)

Say your bench players score between 30-80pts most of the time

For scenario (2) your potential preventable loss is 50pts. Being a 50/50 it will average out to 25pts

For scenario (3) your loss is between 30-80 if you only select one emergency. Yes you lose more points, but the chances of this scenario occurring are far less.

So you should make it a rule of thumb to never select two emergencies in the same position. Even if they are the only bench players named in your side. There are occasions where you can choose to ignore this rule (i.e. multiple players are in doubt/rumors floating around, etc...) <= I don't count "having a hunch" in there

thanks alot :thumbsu::thumbsu: silvagni information especially

What do people think of Jaensch? Job security with all the Crow's outs...?
atm I would say it is pretty good, he was smashing it in the sanfl which means he earned his spot in the side. He is currently playing in the backline which is not his perfered position but there were good reports for him in the first match (not so sure about the second).

Are overall supercoach rankings getting tougher?

I noticed last year I averaged 1973.63 with 43,420pts but happy to say, I'm averaging over 220pts higher than that this year - I'm currently ranked 6,662 which is the highest I've ever been and I'm averaging 2197.

However I was ranked inside the top-50k last year and this season, I noticed one of the guys in my league currently averages 1996.88 and sits outside the top-100k. Few questions I want to ask:

1) In comparison to last season, are there more competent Supercoaches vying for higher rankings?

2) Hypothetically, if someone averaged the same amount of points as last season will their ranking in comparison be twice as high?

3) Does this apply within the top-5k and where do people see the placings-per-50pts amount increasing the most?

4) Are the higher number of Supercoaches this season having an effect on certain rankings?

I don't believe anybody has discussed this at length so I'm sure there will be some interesting discussion here.

Re: Are overall supercoach rankings getting tougher?

It'd vary from year to year. This year a lot of popular picks are doing very very well (Malceski, Barlow, etc), so the average score is a lot higher than last year when there was more of a spread.

Re: Are overall supercoach rankings getting tougher?

Conceivably averages might go up over the season as teams are upgraded, or down as teams run out of trades and start copping injuries. I finished in the 400s last year with ~2190, and am currently in the 1100s with ~2250.
Yeah I remember you fods I reckon we were in the same league last year, I'm averaging about what I did last year and I'm about 10,000 spots worse than last year.

I think it's to do with a lot of teams having the same guns such as Ablett, Hodge, Pods, Barlow who are all in over half the teams which means you are locking in similar teams makes it harder to climb the ladder but one bad week makes you plummett

Supercoach PDF's

Hi all, I've had my bookmarks erased and am looking for the URL that the Herald Sun has that contains the PDF's of the last 4 games + game time.

I'm buggered if I can find it manually.
