I attended the womens' game against the Suns at the Gabba on Saturday and had a really good afternoon - it was great to see the girls (old and new) have a run, and a great atmosphere. It seemed like a good crowd, and I was looking forward to reading a crowd figure in a match summary - is there likely to be a match summary up on the website sometime?

Working on that. Crowd was apx 2800 which is great.

I, too, have been waiting on a match report and am surprised that by monday it still hasn't been posted. I've noticed that the suns always have their women's match reports within a couple of hours after their games. LI I have to ask, why are we so slack in regards to this?

Lions_Insider is the club planning an after match function for the Richmond game in round 23? Would make sense given it’s our last game before finals.
Hard to plan for when we don't know the day of the game. A Saturday afternoon/night game v a Sunday game would greatly change the demand for a function you'd think.

Lions_Insider - others will disagree, but I find these sort of stats disrespectful:

Coming from the Fitzroy side of the family, why aren't the stats of the Brisbane Lions (you know just from the 23 years (522 games) not 33 years as the article mentions) of the club used. Just so the club is aware, it is a real sore point when the Bears stats are included in the Brisbane Lions stats, yet Fitzroy's aren't.

I'd have thought it would be fairly logical that the club just recognises that these types of stats should only include the Brisbane Lions and not the Bears or Fitzroy or at least acknowledge that it includes Bears stats. Every week in the Footy Record we have to read the stats of the club as a combined Brisbane Bears / Brisbane Lions yet they don't include Fitzroy. I know the AFL won't recognise our stats as a stand alone Brisbane Lions, when they should (i.e. only from 1997 onwards), but it is really disappointing that the club won't recognise the stats in isolation from 97 and it pretty much means the club has given up fighting for the AFL to recognise our club's stats in such a manner.

I was told years ago by a Brisbane Lions official that the club was campaigning the AFL to change the stats to recognise only the Brisbane Lions from 1997 (whilst providing the stats for the Bears and Fitzroy respectively), which obviously hasn't been successful given the stats still haven't changed in the AFL Record, but the fact the club still defaults to the Bears and Brisbane Lions stats collectively is insulting.

Just a reminder to everyone to please make attempts to use the resources that are publicly available before asking questions of the lions insider account and if its a question thats more personally related to your own membership etc to contact the club directly. It is a resource that would take time to manage from the clubs POV so if we can utilise the already available information it will free them up to continue to create content etc for us as fans. cheers

Just some feedback for Lions_Insider and for others thinking about watching the game from the "verandah"

Grabbed some tickets to the verandah against North just to try it out. We walked in at exactly 7pm and there was already every seat taken apart from a few bean bags right up the back. Every spot where you could stand was already full and over the next 30 minutes more and more people were coming in to a point that we were better off watching the game on the screen because of how many people were in there.

Pretty disappointing experience and the security guards in the area seemed baffled at the amount of people in there before the game started. In hindsight, we could have got there another 15 or 20 minutes earlier than we did but it was only two of us so didn't think we would struggle to grab a seat. We left at the end of 1st quarter and watched from the wing. I'm glad it was only an extra $20 more then we would have paid for the game.

Sounds like too many are allowed in....I was under the impression in was a select area with seating only for ticketed people. That each person had a seat.

Doesn't sound like much fun as described above..

Good feedback. We cap the number of people in there, so there never should be too many. There aren't enough seats to people, but that's on purpose as we also have beanbags at the back and encourage people to stand and socialise. We have found that sometimes too many people congregate at the bar, so have encouraged security there to move people along to either end so it doesn't seem too crowded.

It's only in year two of the product so we will keep reviewing it, feedback like this is helpful.

While I can understand the club needs to make money (and I am a September member anyway), but the place known as the "XXXX mates place" was significantly better last year when it was a genuinely open area. While it's good that September members are allowed in now, standing areas should be open areas just like every footy ground in the country (Imagine if Crows or Power tried to charge patrons $50 just to stand on the hill at Adelaide Oval and try to turn it into a corporate area at the same time where you need a wristband to enter), all hell would rightfully break loose.

The mates I stand with at games in Victoria couldn't believe a standing area ticket would be $50

Lions_Insider would it be possible to get Majestic to produces jumpers with the 2015/16 clash design with the current sponsors just in-case we get forced to wear a clash jumper in the Grand Final? Could realistically happen if we finish below the Eagles and verse them in the big one, would be a lot of controversy if we wore a Fitzroy or Bears design.
