would love your explanation for Mount Gambier as a local, red is an interesting choice and eagle hawks as well bit different, would have had timber link or one forty one as a sponsor, green, blue and yellow is regional colours, I made a concept for the mount a while ago

Yeah mate I wanted to go for a volcanic theme paying tribute to the blue lake. I was going down the obvious route of a blue or green, modelling the lake and it's changing colours, but then I read this on the wikipedia page for the Mount;

Before British colonisation of South Australia, the Bungandidj (or Buandik/Boandik) people were the original Aboriginal inhabitants of the area. They referred to the peak of the volcanic mountain as 'ereng balam' or 'egree belum', meaning 'home of the eagle hawk.'

That gave me this idea of an ominous and intimidating bird standing guard over the mount. Hence the name and logo, and the red leans into this ominous volcano vibe.
