Assange hasn't 'stolen' anything....He merely publishes what comes to hand.
What our corrupted authorities are attempting to silence here, is the freedom of the press to disclose information of public interest here & by it, freedom of speech.
A Democracy is marked by transparency, open-ness & freedom of information....what all these 'intel agencies' & 'that's classified' nonsense represent, is in fact the complete & utter repudiation of those democratic principles.
They are in fact the cover-up squads for the multi-nationals dirty deeds, from which to hide from the public all their nefarious doings behind the scenes....And they use the U.S war machine as the cover & excuse by which to enact those deeds.
difficulty in understanding quite what the handling is in terms of what he has... 'stolen'.
the revolution is that he has taken what is not quite public and made seen to all of us.
there is often a quantifiable idea about what he wants to make public and what people don't quite want to hear.
this is often about the wrongs that others perpetuate and what some would like to hide.
So the level of keeping random messages quiet is often quite high.
These messages are often controversial and diabolical and sometimes terminal.
They can trash people reputations or else they force everyone to think differently.
