Is anyone able to resist chasing after a thief? I don't care if I have to chase them halfway across the map.
LOL yep, EVERYTIME I do. Usually see them pop up on the map when I'm going for a viewpoint (and almost everytime I think it's one of the Glyph icons showing up on the map, even though I know it actually doesn't) and so I go chasing. Always worth chasing them down for the satisfying kill and the $500 or so you usually get too.

LOL. Same, I'll chase him all over the map if I have to, but he is going down.

Also those musicians, I kill them when they follow me playing their crap.

Anyone have any tips on how to do the no hitter trophy. I'm thinking smoke bombs is not allowed?

Also does anyone know what the four extra secret locations are in the DNA folder? I've finished the game, and there is no reason there should be any left? I'm guessing on-line maps?

Smoke bombs ARE allowed.

What you have to do is go to a restricted zone. Get 10 guards onto you, equip the smoke bomb, throw it, then equip the double blades and start killing in pairs. You'll be done in about 30 seconds.

Basically what HBK said and keep your guard up at ALL times and don't run, or else those agile guards will run up to you and give you one. Easiest place I found was Venice, that big restricted area that was full of guards.

yeah, best place is the first quadrangle in Venice. Keep running around till you have at least 10 guys following you then use the smoke bombs.

I only ever used the smoke bombs the first time I got them, that assassination of the priest or whatever with all the other monks around, that's also how I got the achievement.

Cheers. It's my only trophy left and I was starting to doubt I would ever get it without using smoke bombs.

No one knows anything about those secret locations then? There are four darkened areas in the DNA patch which means they are out there.

I'm guessing 3 of them are the one's that were available with the purchase of the Black Edition of Assassin's Creed 2.

One was the Palazzo Medici, another was the Santa Maria Dei Frari as well as the Arsenal Shipyard Warehouse.

Just a guess, but that would be my bet of 3 of the 4.

ok I need some help. This is killing me.

Anyone who has gotten to Venice, tell me where I'm going wrong.

You know when Ezio starts hallucinating, and becomes Altaire again, and he chases the guy to the tower, then needs to climb the tower.

How the **** do you do it? I am on the balcony, there is an obvious pole to jump on, but he just won't ****ing do it!!! What am I doing wrong?????

thx
Lance did that turn out to be a chick? Is it the part just before we go to Venice?

Yeah I know exactly what you mean, dude. It took me 45 minutes of friggen around. It is a glitch. Ridiculous.
you can also jump at it from either corner. That's what I did.
Haha yeah it took me ages, but I did it differently. I just ran up the wall and then wall-jumped to the side onto the post.
I'll assume he ploughs her later on.
He ploughs her right there and then, if he is Altair.

Nearly finished this game. Awesome still.

Never played the first one so can;t judge that repetitiveness, but this game is quite varied. Would have preferred to see more time/missions with the flying machine and caravan (not a spoiler, its in the manual) but oh well.

Definitely on the easy side of the spectrum. Most challenging parts have been the races.

Oh and some of the puzzles look hard as ****. My have to internet most of them

Honestly, AC 2 felt like AC 1.5.
It was still rather repetitive though a definite improvement over the first in that regard.

The controls are in need of an upgrade, that's for sure. Some of the Assassin Tombs were infuriating. A toned down inFamous-style control scheme would go alright.

It's a solid game, it's just nowhere near the heights that some of you are suggesting. Not quite deserving of the title of 'amazing'.

Just got up to this bit a few minutes ago, absolutely ****ing ridiculous. Not sure how they managed to mess that up so badly.

mickelboy, I agree with you re: the controls, they are bloody terrible at times and the camera angles don't do you any favours.

Finished the game. My interest started to wane around the 40 hours mark. I still have to collect feathers and get that cape, kill 10 guards without being hit, finish off those glyphs and I can then finally get the platinum... but it's too much of a chore so I'll now start playing B:AA and finish it off another time.

Good choice.

From what I've played, B:AA > Assassins Creed 2.

I really liked it at first but I hate the controls and the story is starting to confuse me the way it jumps around all over the place. But the first 1-2 hours of this game was really fun, when you're not actually an assassin yet.

Does it pick up after
you meet Mario and take out that city and assassinate your enemy? That was pretty fun though, taking a whole lot of guys with you to take out the city.

It does but after a while it feels repetitive - Kill this guy, tail this courier, punch up a cheater, assassinate without detection etc etc.

The ending was pretty good. It's like an inFamous ending where they bait you with a little bit more information that will get you to buy their next sequel.
