Ubisoft has confirmed that Assassin’s Creed III will release on October 30 this year, following earlier confirmation that Far Cry 3 will release on September 6.

The date was given in a financial call to investors today. Details regarding the game are minute at this point, but it will star a new protagonist. Various locations have been rumored over recent months, with Egypt, China, and America during the Revolutionary period the running favorites. The French Revolution has also been mentioned.

So much lack of care right now, getting a bit 'COD-ish' in terms of care factor. Just dropping immensely as it goes.

Haven't even thought about starting Revelations.

Will wait for the first trailer/location detail before caring.

I'm a bit like you. I still care about the story, and enjoy the games but I just need a little more time than 1 year between sequels, which is why I haven't started Revelations and won't be until sometime later on this year.

Here's hoping that they finish up Desmond's story with AC3 and give the franchise a rest until at least next gen.

This, bought Brotherhood on the cheap but couldn't be bothered slogging through it after about 2 hours in.

One of the most repetitive series there is, needs a massive revamp. Absolutely loved the first one, but by the concluding stages of the 2nd I was well and truly exhausted.

i bought revelations not long after christmas for 60 bucks and havn't bothered starting it yet.

it's one of my fav series but it's def an overload being the type/style of game it is releasing every year.

fantastic series but.

I've played through all of them but was a bit burned out by the end of Revelations (main storyline enemies in Revelations weren't good but the Altair parts were very good and nice to see a conclusion to the Ezio storyline.)

Will play this.

Never got into any of them tbh.

Played the first and was a bit meh, although it looked gorgeous compared to games of the time.

Got II, got pissed off at the first mission where i had to race a guy to the roof with basically no indication on how to do it

rage quit.

Sat on the shelf ever since lol

They're worth playing Mancey. Searching for 'The Truth' in AC: II is actually really good fun and quite different to any other game out there and, personally, I find knocking off the 66 viewpoints and syncing the map to be really, really fun for some reason.

The campaign is a dull by the numbers affair with too many QTE's and follow-your-map-to-the-huge-pulsating-bullseye-and-carry-out-assigned-action missions.

I need some help. I just bought AC revelations and I've put it into the PS3 and its taking an eternity to load. The screen that its kinda stuck on is the one with the blue crest on it and a bar with a small x underneath it. Is this meant to happen the first time you play it.

Yes, that's what happened for me the first time, it won't take as long as that next time you put the disc in.
It works fine now, thanks mate. I hopped onto multiplayer for a while and boy was it slow paced compared to COD. Much less stress and frustration though, which is good for when I want to take a break from the rage filled experience provided by MW3.

They really need to wait another year for this.

Every year there is a new AC game, like COD. Complete over kill. I'm still playing AC II but feel like giving up because a newer, shinier version comes out every other week...

PS i'm tipping French Revolution given the logo.

Agree with the overkill. I've only played the first and second, loved them both but only feel like playing another one soonish

Its been my fav multiplayer game for awhile now, specifically because its so different to everything else. FPSs in general (and Uncharted multiplayer in particular) are so manic and repetitive, its just run run shoot run run shoot, rinse and repeat.

Love how the AC:B and AC:R multiplayer is all about taking your time and not rushing, they've incorporated the stealth aspect brilliantly. They've done an excellent job with the different game modes too, great fun.

Like others, I've kind of given up on the single player though. Up to about sequence 6 in AC:R and haven't been motivated to pick it up again since christmas.

The reason they've put out Brotherhood and Revelations was because they were always going to release this in 2012 to coincide with the game's time. Would have made no sense to delay this one.

However not making Revelations at all would have made heaps of sense, unless you're Ubisoft and like money a lot.

Brotherhood was surprisingly innovative, but Revelations was a pretty big chore

I hope III ends the main story, not another sequel to follow

If you don't feel like playing the game every year, don't buy it. Nobody's forcing you to buy it straight away so I can't see why you're all complaining about a new release every year.

is that because, of the Fleur-de-lis??

Because it's degrading the overall quality of the releases.

Much like COD's, the ideas and innovations become lesser and lesser and it becomes so iterative that it's basically the exact same game with a slightly different coat of paint and slightly different story.

If you like a series/series premise, then you want to see it innovate and be brilliant every time. You don't want to see it get bogged down in the same vein that COD has.
