Just finished. I didn't do every side target, I'll mop up when the DLC comes out. I still spent 80 hours with it. Now I know what everyone was talking about with the ending. It was so abrupt! It felt really unfinished even after doing the epilogue. That epilogue scene could have just been attached to the ending because I did feel a bit ripped off the moment the credits rolled.
As for the game, that was awesome. Up there with my top AC games but I think Origins still might pip it for me due to the setting and the mythology. Shadows felt really grounded but IMO AC games need to have that mythology. Outside of that one yokai and Kojiro appearing for one quest I don't think there was any supernatural stuff whatsoever. Either more stuff around the animus as to why we've travelled to these characters during this time or some Isu stuff, or something. There probably needed to be a bit more variety with the side content as it was pretty much just 100+ assassination targets and most of the time the game never gave you enough context as to why you were hunting them. I think the game does a great job wowing you early with the visuals, setting, story and the slight improvements from the previous games but then it's capable to really bog you down and there is no way to speed it up as even the main targets/missions are more of the same until you get into Act 3 which seems to get back on track. Both Yasuke and Naoe were really cool and I look forward to the rest of Naoe's story when the DLCs come. It sounds like we're going to get some east-west connection back to Ezio with her story as his time in Italy a few hundred years early was talked about during one of the cut scenes.
