If Hinkley stays, I also wouldn't mind Jaymie Graham along with another of his choice in a succession plan.

I’d take Rutten. Someone who wins a senior coaching gig isn’t stupid. I’d assume they normally don’t go back to a line coach role. Seems like a negative career move.

Usually I would agree with you but Donuts is a head coach.
Donut argue with me. Better coaches under Ken will help amen rise to to the Occassion before he sails off in his yaght

What are the chances of Erin getting a role to drive professional standards within the playing group?

Donuts: Alright fellas, settle down, settle down. The pencil pushers upstairs have organised a reeeal treat for ya today. You'se are gonna learn to be professional from this Ellen woman he-

It's Erin.

Donuts: Ya certain?

Yes. Erin Phillips.

Donuts: Doesn't sound right.

My father, Greg, played 343 games for Port Adelaide.

Donuts: Blank stare

He won eight premierships? He was captain for a couple of years?

Donuts: Scratches head

And I played in the WNBA? Won three premierships with Adelaide's AFLW team?

Donuts: Doesn't ring a bell. Anyways, you'se blokes, I'll let Ellen yap ya heads off now about... chuckle... being "professional".

Sits down, cracks open can of Coke, and starts streaming Sky Racing 1

Erin wouldn't make a dent in the existing culture of winning is alright but being a good bloke is what matters until there is fundamental change at the top.

KOCH ANNOUNCES SUCCESSION PLAN

Statement from the PAFC President

We might be just a little suburban club from Alberton, but we've never shied away from pioneering new approaches or adapting the practices of others to improve our club.

I am sure that the hundreds of thousands of Port supporters who live in Adelaide, elsewhere in Australia and around the world will welcome our newly minted succession plan.

You know that stability is the most important facet of any organisation, far more important than democracy or other considerations.

What better example of stability is there than the British Royal Family? Queen Elizabeth has reigned over us for seventy years now and we know already that her eldest Prince Charles will assume the reins on her passing.

The Board decided this morning that Ken Hinkley, who is coaching better than he has ever done, will remain coach for life. He will henceforth be known as King Ken and his wife Donna will officially be recognised by our club as his Royal consort, Queen Donna.

On Ken's passing or unlikely abdication, the role of coach will automatically fall to their son, Prince Jordan, and will stay in the Hinkley family line, with regents appointed whenever the rightful heir has not reached his majority.

If the Crows can build a new home for their club, it is important that we stay one step ahead. The club will immediately commence the construction of a palace adjacent to the Angle Park greyhound track so that King Ken and his family can enjoy the luxuries earned through his untiring commitment to taking the money of Port Adelaide's myriad fans.

Our CEO Matthew Richardson will keep Port Adelaide members updated if he comes out of his hole.

Thank you, ladies and gentlemen, I must catch a flight to meet the Cash Cow, so I won't be taking questions at this stage.

Almost had me.

I think a different voice from a winner would do wonders - Erin is a shinning example of being a good person and a winner. This positions don’t need to be mutually exclusive and if that is the only lesson that is learnt, then it is an improvement. There are not many actual winners in the coaches box at the moment.

The Great Man exemplified being a great person and a great competitor.

She wouldn't at this point. The AFLW is established enough now that Port isn't likely to win that flag. If they were able to, then Erin could publicly go on about how you've got limited time and have to put football first, to juxtapose with Hinkley's 'Footy isn't the most important thing' and Jonas's 'living the life' and get people questioning maybe the difference in attitude is the difference between success and mediocrity. Minus that success though there's not enough to generate the pressure on the various fiefdom's.

It doesn't really matter who the assistant coaches are if Hinkley stays on board. Voss, Nicks were both smothered by Hinkley's rat shit game plan while at Alberton and it wasn't until they moved away that they were able to stamp their individual brand on an AFL list. Not saying that either Voss or Nicks are setting the AFL alight but Hinkley's indirect, possession based kick it to an opponent game plan simply smothers all around him.

Wait until we get shot of Hinkley then worry about who will assist his replacement.
