Hmmm bit of a wait and see for me.

Talks well but all year his diagnosis for our issues was that we were trying too many things and to be successful really needed to double down on our one-wood being contested ball game…..just focus on that at the expense of everything else.

Not an analysis I agree with. Hopefully the role is more rounded than that. Also seems half-committed given part-time etc.

Hoping I’m completely wrong though!

Simpson is an awesome appointment.

Great to see the club is finally investing in our coaches development.

I’m really behind Wright, Davies & Voss now, they seem to be Carlton first, heading in the right direction, putting the train wreck of the past 25 years behind us.

He's a successful coach but it was a different era. Football changed in 2022 and it has caught some off-guard. Especially those heavily focused on defensive negative football and congested/contested orientated football. Those focused on using leg speed and mobility to attack and defend as well as kicking skills are excelling. If Simpson has got his head around this then great.

I'm happy to have him, will add another set of eyes and brain to our group. Rated as a coach and a record to prove it. I think he's a good get but we will see.

listen to Chris Davies about the SImpson appointment and yeah it gives confidence that the support is being put around Vossy. Adam is to be an one step away from the group so as not to have involvement in 'group thought'.
Sounds like fresh eyes being applied with a bit of distance from the coalface coaching group.

Or … Adam is one step away from the group so when/if it all goes bad and Voss gets sacked .. Adams hands are clean

I like the appointment a lot.

Great News. Hopefully it eventuates. Voss needs a new direction and message.
Voss is the brawn not the brain.....its become obvious he doesn't coach as some of the master tactical coaches do...he lacks that unfortunately...its been obvious....his intentions are excellent otherwise
Simpson gives him a chance or he's exposed?......they might sort it out between them for the betterment of Carlton
This presents as a solid step for the future
