Bigger for us than landing Shiel and MM.

I am bullish on our list and our biggest issue in 2018 was injury and a worrying trend of players coming back from injury and going straight back out with the same injury over the last two years has been scary and pathetic for a professional club.

He’s the best in the comp. I’m serious.

Andrew Russell contacted Carlton..he’s like a challenge and loves working with kids he basically fell into our laps.
Fantastic !

Thanks for your updates

The more key personnel we attract by whichever means, the more key players may follow.

Welcome Andrew and co. Do we presume that he'll be selecting the people he wants to work under him?

It’s going to have to be a big investment for the posse and also facilities required to accompany the professionalism required. All-in BlueBoys!

Russell is a huge get for the club. A big reason for O'Meara managing his knee as well as it could be, and probably also the Hawks taking the punt on picking up Ryan Burton with knee concerns. I was under the impression a month ago that becoming a destination club again would mostly need time and wins. These sort of acquisitions play a huge part though. :thumbsu:

Assuming we get the trades done, midfield coach is our biggest hole right now.

Unfortunately missed out on Mitchell, hopefully we have a highly rated plan B.

We can hopefully sell the opportunity to work with Cripps, Shiel and a bunch of young guns including setterfield and Walsh.

Attractive position I'd have thought for a prospect.

Still not sure if it was Clarke’s decision to move on or if it was our motive? It was mentioned (Scoop) that he was heading to GCFC but don’t think it’s been officially announced yet.
Crippa thanked Clarke for his work during the season (along with Amos).

Who will it be...?

I couldn't have said it better myself couldn't have come at a better time, good to see some proactive moves after the injury disasters of this year. Will help us attract players to having Russell on staff is the best in the business.

Anyone see this article in The Age it was written last night.

Carlton
Picks: 1, 24, 26, 67, 75
Trade Outlook: Heavily courted Shiel and have landed Mitch McGovern. The Blues are also favourites to get Will Setterfield. If Shiel wants to join the Blues then a future first-round pick will form the basis of the offer while the priority picks they were given are likely to be used as trade currency. Collingwood's Alex Fasolo is also set to join the club as a free agent. The Blues won't give up pick No.1, retaining the selection for Sam Walsh. Levi Casboult is contracted but exploring his options.

Shiel, Setterfield, McGovern would be a huge trade period for us. With Walsh in the draft. WooHoo

Yeah agree totally we need a gun mids coach, really thought Mitchell would take up the challenge, would have been better for his career to join us. Should try and get Diesel on a part time basis at least, shame Carracella is staying at Richmond. Wonder if Robert Harvey is gettable?
