Can we trade Robert Harvey to St Kilda.
They can have Ed Bucks Sando Hine and Guy for free as sweetners

You mean like Harvey and Sanderson have been developed to a high standard and are ripe for poaching by opposition clubs?

Maybe Boyd has some inherent coaching ability, and it was Longmuir he developed under?

FMD, Collingwood supporters need to stop with worshipping personalities and worship success instead.

Back again from the Melb board.

Weren't you saying that Longmuir was the reason for 2018 improvement ?

So doesn't that mean that he was given, and took opportunity to develop his skills, that ultimately raised his credential to the point where he was offered a senior role.
Why else would he come across the Country, if he didn't think he could improve his Coaching as a stepping stone to a senior role?

If he was so capable BEFORE joining CFC why wasn't he offered a senior job - does he get a senior job without CFC develpoment/experience?
Clearly not.

And yes, we identified Boyd as a talent, because he had just finished as a player when we gave him his first Coaching job.

Anything else bluey!

Obviously not an ideal situation. Dean Solomon would be a great pickup because he's always been highly rated as an assistant coach but apparently he's pretty focused on his new gym business right now so might not be interested.

Why can't we get Hocking back? We stood him down then ultimately sacked him - which makes no sense because we're stuck in the position of needing a new VFL coach.

Could Dunn come in and be a good backline coach? He's got experience being an assistant coach to our AFLW team.

The 2017 Review was Waste of Time Then.

Only got 1 season from it
I honestly don't know what is going on at the club. Since when does Collingwood get raided by Freo? Embarrassing.

You would really hope we are getting Leppitsch, Nick R, Roughhead etc

I think you could be right on Dunn.

Clearly a capable guy and now having spent time with Longmuir, I'm have no doubt he will have absorbed as much as Boyd, to take over the role.

Given Hayden Skipworth was managing the guys in the reserves this year, he'll probably be promoted to VFL coach.

No, I said Longmuir and Hocking.

He was given the chance to put his ideas into action. At any other club he may not have had that level of independence.

I would highly doubt that there is a club in the competition who would rank Buckley, Harvey and Sanderson as a coaching trio who have anything to offer from a coaching perspective. That's why no one else wants them.

I guarantee you, without a shred of doubt, that if Buckley stood down from coaching Collingwood he would not be offered another position as Senior coach.

If he was so capable BEFORE joining CFC why wasn't he offered a senior job - does he get a senior job without CFC develpoment/experience?
Clearly not.

It's difficult to believe someone could be so delusional. He may have figured he needed another couple of years experience in another environment. Seeing how much money the Collingwood football club waste in the football department is a way of learning how to do things more efficiently.

He could have had the same position at any other club and then progressed to Senior Coach.

And yes, we identified Boyd as a talent, because he had just finished as a player when we gave him his first Coaching job.

Was he offered any other? According to reports at the time there was only one other club offering a position.

Yes, let's appoint someone without any previous coaching experience to a senior assistant role just because he played for Collingwood and is a good bloke, albeit one with a shitty hairdresser.

Craig Black is our 2nds Coach next year

Hi all apologies for the intrusion, was wondering if I could get a rundown on Boyd? Don't know much about his coaching ability other than he's highly regarded. Thanks

No, I said Longmuir and Hocking.

OK - so I was correct you DID say Longmuir

He was given the chance to put his ideas into action. At any other club he may not have had that level of independence.
So again you conceded he developed at CFC by being alllowed to put his ideas into action - and refine/improve his skills

I'm tipping a former Coach of the Year gets a job easily - but maybe you can post some scathing media reports of how bad a Coach Buckley is, to convince me that unbiased and informed commentators share your view.

And yet its was after his time at CFC that he got him a Senior job - a GF and PF in successive years at CFC gave him the springboard to senior job. It's a fact that can't be disputed as much as you try otherwise - and to suggest he would have gotten a senior coaching job anyway is true, but not in just 2yrs after leaving WA, and definitely not without working with a Top 4 team that went deep into finals.

Was he offered any other? According to reports at the time there was only one other club offering a position.

How does that change the fact we identified him as a talent - history now shows we saw talent when everyone else did not

Understand the premise but its too incestuous - we need expertise from the outside.

I don't have enough info for a thorough rundown, no access to rumour so don't have the lowdown...

But Boyd is well-liked by all reports.

He was our link to the defensive systems put in place by Longmuir, in the absence of Longmuir himself, and as such he has done a good job.

He will be missed. A loss to us, your gain.
