Silly idea, limiting staff.
Most of it is wasted money anyway.
Will the fans enjoy footy less if there's 2 less assistant coaches? It's become an arms race where every club is determined to have the most coaches, and most of them are on hyper inflated wages.

I think that about a heap of things the AFL does - the huge player salaries, the poaching of players from other sports, the grand expansion dreams, etc...
I would disagree in relation to players.
Most players only earn around 100-200k and their average career length is 4 years, plus they have to make HUGE sacrifices, everything they do is hyper scrutinised, can't go out on the weekends, can't eat or drink what they want, put their physical health on the line most weekends ect.
Gold Coast and Freo have already announced their cull of assistants and other staff for 2021. I'd expect we'd find out Collingwood's soon as well. Could be brutal

Sanderson is less of a concern for me given he’s had our forward line functioning well in the past, but Harvey needs to go, as does our midfield coach, whoever that is. Bring Hocking back in as the midfield coach and poach Caracella from Essendon. Richmond haven’t looked as good since he left, I reckon he was their Longmuir.

Harvey is our midfield and transition coach, Sanderson the Forward line and ball movement, and Boyd, Defence.

I don’t see the benefit of having an assistant coach such as Harvey be at the club for 8-9 years. There’s forever been a debate about whether a head coach has an expiry date at a club when their message no longer gets delivered because they have been there too long.
This is surely shorter for an assistant coach, the assistant coaches that you bring in usually bring with them new ideas that tweak ball movement.
When we have had basically 7 unsuccessful seasons under this coaching group I can’t understand how one assistant coach can seemingly continue in his role.
Not saying he’s a bad coach, I’m not on the insides of the club, but our coaching seems stale and 8 years seems to be a long time on the shelf at one club for an assistant.

Hadn't even heard that rumour, shows how clued in I am with the Suns. Someone more knowledgeable than me can chip in
