Longmuir has been coaching since 2011 when he started as the Weagles forward coach.

DC is a terrific appointment for the Pies. He coached the BHH to the 2013 premiership and was selected as the coach of the 20 year 2000 to 2019 BHH All Stars team. He’s a very good educator and development coach. At the BHH he strongly advocated for what was best for the team and players. DC is a ripper bloke of great integrity and I was very disappointed and upset when he was a victim of the soft cap. Hawthorn’s loss is a big gain for the Pies. I wish DC well.

With us trying to get multiple picks in this draft by all reports, it would make sense that we’d put on a really strong development replacement for Boyd and by the sounds of it, this is our guy.

For the 10th time Robert Harvey is knocked back from another club and we're stuck with him for another year.

Just saw that come through, after 10 times you would think his opportunities may be running out. He's a bit like Sumich, just can't can't convince anyone.

Personally, I don't think we're well coached. I have no idea what each coach does or doesn't do, why is Harvey seen as a terrible assistant? Him getting regular head coach inteviews suggest that the football world doesn't see it this way.

Of the 60 or more assistant coaches in the league, he regularly gets short-listed for Head coach positions. I really am curious why so many on this board are convinced that he's terrible. It certainly doesn't seem to be his AFL wide reputation.

Atleast they didn't get Clarko. We should be getting in Clarko's ear already. I think a new challenge would be really good for him.

How many assistant coaches do you think applied for the head coach at North? I bet not many. Ever since he's been in charge we've largely failed to develop young mids, generally all our good mids developed before he came, or were traded in from gws.

Also our midfield has been under performing for a long time, with an AA ruck and several AA midfielders we still lose the midfield battle regularly.

Also when you hear Harvey do an interview it's easy to see he has a very simple mind. Struggles to speak beyond basic words and cliques. Brilliant footballer but not a good communicator.
