Inside ball, contested ball and inside midfielders are only one part of the picture. You don't think we are tough ? Well we were the no 1 contested ball and pressure team in the midfield and were favourites heading into a GF
Whether that's due in any part to Clarke or Campo who knows - but to say our midfield with cornerstones Crouches and Sloane aren't tough well you are making stuff up
You think Sloane Crouches and Greenwood are soft ? That's what you're saying
What has Campo done to improve our outside ball winners? They still don't go in when it's their turn, plus players avoid tackling and leave it to our inside players for some bizarre reason. Defensively, we also seem lost when we don't get that perfect tap from Jacobs to inside mids, which makes it very easy for the opposition midfield to stroll out of stoppages. We saw that against Richmond and Geelong in the finals.
You've basically pointed to four players and stated our entire midfield is hard at the football. Are players like Atkins and Mackay really delivering that swarm pressure? Manic want for the football? Or do they sit on the outside waiting for cheap ball regardless of the circumstances?
Are players like Sloane, the Crouches and Greenwood inherently tough, or were they coached to be that way by Campo? Are you giving Campo credit for those players being hard?
Then again, if you think it's Campo's job to just tell Matt Crouch and Sloane how to win clearances and rack up touches on the inside, I guess you probably think he is doing a good job
