At last we complain about the umps

It was interesting to read in todays paper that at last we are complaining about the Umps. About time! For too long we have had to put up with crap umpiring as the stats show.

MELBOURNE coach Neale Daniher will today front the AFL's director of coaching Jeff Gieschen with a video tape of what he believes are poor decisions.

Demons' officials have become increasingly agitated by the high number of free kicks against the side.

In 1999, Melbourne had 55 more free kicks awarded against it than received, to be equal last with Brisbane on the free-kick rankings.

Last year the Dees were 44 in deficit, equal 12th.

This year Melbourne has received the second fewest free kicks and is the third-worst offending side.

''We are totally bemused by some free kicks paid and not paid on the weekend,'' Melbourne chief executive John Anderson said.

And how many of those do u think would be against poor Oxy???? i mean seriously..... luv him or hate him he gets hard done by every week.... and that bloody umpire harvey has it in for the guy. I think it is about bloody time they did something about it.

There is no doubt dee girl the the umps have it in for Ox. I remember in Round 3 he said to that idiot Coates the ball is flat, the ump said it was OK. Schwarz kicked it like a sack of potatoes. A few minutes later they changed the ball!
Also last week, he was being held on to all day and did not get one free.
Also in that last quarter he clearly got pushed in the back but they said holding the ball.
They have had it in for him from the word go. I remember in his comeback game in 1997 the first mark he took the umpire paid a free kick against him! IDIOTS

OMG !!!!!!! that game in 1997 was against Adelaide and i was there. and we lost! saturdays game was against adelaide and we lost ????? HMMMM i gotta stop going to the footy i think . LOL but yeah the Geelong game with the flat ball was pathetic. and on saturday there was a holding on right in front of the cheersquad, and the adelaide guy (Stevens???? dont know dont care who it was) was all over his back...... I MEAN SERIOUSLY and people wanna know why The Ox never shuts up when he's playing..... It's cos the umpys are conspiring against him. And something has to be done about it........

i totally agree...
every time i've sed to sumone that was bagging melbourne and if i tried to say sumthing bout the umpires they'd say i was just making excuses...
i'm glad it wozn't just me that saw the ****ty decisions........

But why didn't they do it years ago!!

For years Melb. supporters have been complaining about this issue. I can remember talking to Cameron Schwab and he just laughed it off saying we will be know as whingers.!!

I think the MFC has FINALLY TAKEN some notice from its supporters......about BLOODY TIME!!
