Oh
No. Have you? They use the word terrorist in the news.com.au, the Age and the Australian... think you might making this up.

Not sure if you realise this but Sri Lanka isn't in New Zealand? And the "Catholic robes" as you call them (vestments) are worn by the clergy, not sure why you think Adern would wear them as agnostic... would be a bit offensive to Catholic's yeah?

Yes how dare the Sri Lankan government shut down messaging services in the wake of a terrorist attack where hundreds have been killed so that more people don't get killed.

Dkhds!
Oh look another extreme left poster who rather than condemn the attacks decides to target posters in the thread. What a surprise!

Be a good time for ABC News channel to show Al Jazeera English or BBC World News. No, let's watch normal junk until norms have gone to bed.
I searched all TV channels including dedicated news channels expecting it to be a covered live on multiple channels as it was a developing story. Just got regular programming and a ticker tape feed on Fox news.

I've got full Foxtel and when I was looking a few hours ago not one single news service had anything on it apart from the ticker tape down the bottom.

ABC, BBC, CNN, Fox, Fox UK, Fox USA, Al Jazeera

The eighth bombing was during a police raid on suspects' apartments. Sounds like a group of people got caught by police at their home and decided to take themselves and police out. Interested to know whether more bombings were planned.

Was in a suburb with a high Muslim population, across the road from a mosque apparently.

Dunno if anyone here realises this but the perpetrator in Christchurch was an Australian citizen and also FYI New Zealand happens to be right next to Australia on a map. In fact, New Zealand is so close that you can actually fly there from Victoria in less time it would take to fly from Victoria to Perth.
... and Murali is a chucker not fit to tie warnie's laces and Ranatunga was a fat, abrasive ****.

Western media has historically not paid much attention to overseas deaths when the people dying are of a darker skin tone.

Rwanda springs to mind.
Nothing to do with skin tone. If this happened in somewhere like Japan, Singapore or Korea it would be just as big as if it were in Europe.

For better or for worse, when the third world experiences violence it doesn't make the news as much as when the first world does

The Mumbai attacks were covered fairly extensively from memory. The Sri Lankan authorities have seemingly done a decent job of keeping things under wraps, therefore not feeding any narrative: obviously they want to minimise reprisals.

Is there less revenge stirred up when the perpetrators have exploded?

When there is a detained attacker it seems to keep the story in the headlines as shock and sadness find a new home to turn to anger towards.
