1. Harry Taylor was, according to some commentators anyway, "the weak link" who couldn't take on a quality forward. A third tall in defence at best.
2. Our forward line was seen as being very suspect. Enormous pressure on Moons, SJ and (to a lesser extent) Hawkins.
3. We were wondering when Ottens would be back. What would we do without him? Surely we'd struggle to win when the heat was on against top four teams...
4. No Josh Hunt. Harley probably a little suspect.
5. Ablett was, according to some, "chasing Brownlow votes" because he was "desperate to win it for himself".
6. The whole team was under pressure. Only one premiership from such a run would be almost a failure.
7. St Kilda were probably the best team in the competition.
8. Not a huge amount of depth.

Just a few observations. I'm sure I have missed a few things.

I can't remember that well, but I think it was more in 2008 people were saying Harry T was the weak link, not really last year?

Our forward line is still suspect to be honest..

Can you name one which isn't. Lonergan,Hunt and to lesser degree Taylor all look fragile at times but the rules these days mean most backmen do. If the stop their share of 50/50s they have done their job.

It was just one commentator who said that and I think most people agree that that commentator is a massive tosser.

Ah, good ol' Tim Watson. Did anyone hear him say halfway through the 3rd quarter that Swan had burnt off Ling, so Ling was moved to Pendlebury? Unfortunately for Tim he'd been playing on Pendlebury since 5 minutes into the 1st term.

Forrest Gump would be better at providing special comments or being a boundary rider than that muppet.

Only one commentator said those exact words, but I did hear others (Ox for instance) repeat them. It'd be interesting to look at some of the commentary after the round 14 game against the Saints too.

Agree that "massive tosser" is probably right though :)
