****ing VCAA, despite averaging B's and A's in my SACS this year and good exam results, the campaigners find a way to mark everything down. So I end up with 70 when it should have been more, way more. Pissed off, this whole scaling bullshit is ridiculous. Yes I know this sounds offended, but seriously FFS

Scaling is very, very necessary. Otherwise everyone would just do easy subjects and there would be no incentive to challenge yourself and do something like specialist maths for example.

Why was English scaled if everyone did it then? I'm happy though. 79.65 and a 40 in English :)

Didn't sleep till 5 and woke up at 6:55.

Got a bit lower than I wanted but could've been a whole lot worse.

Stoked with a 44 in English - its my top subject but I know I didn't work that hard this year and that it could have been far lower than 88.55.

Interesting to say the least. The HUN leaked scores of 40 and above and about 2am this morning.

I believe the media give far to much emphasise on people who get 95+ and not enough on the rest who worked just as hard.

What do people think of the media coverage of VCE Results?
I was watching the football at 2AM when the HUN link came up on my news feed. Decided not to click it and warned my brother not to either. I ended up getting a 44 and a 41 - but I seriously was disappointed in them; they just helped me with a sleepless night.

It's discriminatory, some people are better in the Humanities field than others whilst some are better in the Math/Science field.

I just don't understand how I got C+ for my SACS for further when I averaged 80%. Even in Legal, I got 97/100 for unit 4 but it wielded a B+. It feels like a kick in the balls but at the end of the day I got into my course so it isn't the end of the world

So jealous of all of you over east who get theirs today. In WA, we have to wait until around New Years to get them, which absolutely sucks. Most people sounded like they did really well, so congraulations!

Seeing as my study regime this year consisted of mostly reading bigfooty threads, ill take my 84.05 :p and a 40 in English as well which i'm pleased with :)

Does anyone know - are the scores published online by VTAC scaled or raw?

I'm very nervous about heading into Year 12 next year. One slip up can cost you big time.
Only in an exam, just work consistently like I didn't.

Temporarily, yes. You will all learn very soon, perhaps weeks even, that it isn't that big of a deal. I got hit with Glandular Fever mate during exams and SWOTVAC and all that. Didn't bother doing special consideration because I only needed 60 or something to be in the course I am in. I ended up with 83. 41 Further, 40 PE, 39 Health. Was hoping to get 45 in PE but shit happens. Anyay, I'm two years into my uni degree and I have a mate that got 52 or something for his ATAR yet we are doing the same course and are about the equivalent academic wise.

Shit doesn't matter. Just numbers

The ones you get by text and published in the paper ect are raw, only the scores used to calculate your overall ATAR are scaled, you can find both on the website, but only raws get published.

well - i'm year 11 heading into year 12, and I've accelerated, so all that's displayed for me is "VCE Results", not the ATAR section.

The page looks like this:

I'm just wondering if that "Study Score: 40" has already been scaled down, or whether it's the raw and I've actually gotten a 36 (which is what IT Apps scales to from 40).
