Heading into year 12 this year and all this stuff goes right over my head. I have many questions:
1. Is it better to do 12 units or 10 (my year 11 marks are PDHPE 89, Advanced English 82, Business studies 79, Biology 76, Economics 70, Mathematics 43). I'm keeping maths and considering dropping economics or business but is it really worth it. I need an ATAR of 65 to get into my course here in Albury but 80+ do do it in Melbourne, which my parents aren't keen on, so I'm aiming for a high ATAR to cover all possibilities.
2. Since I got such a poor mark for Mathematics does it mean I've failed since it was under 50%? And does this mean that I haven't passed year 11? I wold say 60% of people in my grade would have been under 50%.
3. If I get a higher ATAR will it help me in getting a job. I need to do a masters or PhD to go anywhere in sport science and I don't know if a high ATAR helps me to be able to do this after I finish my undergraduate degree. Te industry is also very competitive so I was wondering if having a high ATAR holds me in good stead to get a job with an insttute or sporting club.
Thanks in advance.
