Gun, a shorter Scott Pendlebury, think he'll end up an AA mid within two years. Wait until he stacks the muscle and core strength to actually shake off tackles with his hips if he ever gets caught. I hope he reaches that point.

Found this and thought it was funny it has him going to Pork:

#29 Port Adelaide (Compensation Pick) – Rory Atkins (VIC – Mid/Fwd)
Height: 183cm, Weight: 75kg, DOB: 12/07/1994
Recruited from: Calder Cannons
Style:
Player comparison:
Range: 25-50
Profile: Atkins is a forward who can also push up into the midfield. Excellent by both hand and foot rarely missing a target. What makes him stand out is his decision making under pressure and his ball use in congestion, making decisions quickly and makes the right ones consistently. Strong overhead at his size. Has some pace and can burst away. Running ability has much improved and has really built that ability to push up the ground and get his hands on the ball more. Just needs to figure out how to do it against stronger opposition next. Feels too outside for my liking and I’d like to see him win more of his own ball and that will be the next stage for him.

With Atkins, it's not just his ability to get out of trouble that makes him so useful. It's that he, seemingly, actively goes searching for players to close in on him. Since he still hits a target most of the time in this situation, it means that the next person in the chain is freer because nearby opponents have gone to Atkins. He effectively sucks them away from being able to impact the next possession.

Very unusual player to watch, sometimes he is surrounded by multiple players who all have their hands on him and yet somehow the ball shoots out to the intended target. Must admit I enjoy watching him :D

There were a couple times in the Showdown where he just about had 2 players hanging off him and the Port crowd was telling "BAAAALL!" and then he shoots off a handball to a free player and the crowd Boo'd haha

Players able to remove opponents from the contest is often undervalued around these parts.

On the Sunday Footy Show, they were interviewing Brouch and they made mention about our Smart Arse pack, led by Tex of course but with the Crouches as well, and they specifically mentioned "Rat". Feel as though there is a good comraderie at the club.

Let's not forget how this season started out with Brouch and Rat suspended for one too many Super Dry's at the Clipsal (or whatever the story ended up being).

The Rat Pack?

watching him against Polec, hard to believe we paid pick 81 for him and Port gave up a first rounder.

now their value would almost be the other way round.

cannot wait to see him absolutely tear up a game with 30+ possies & 3-4 goals

something about left footers lovely to watch and when they have a bit of cheek about them even better

They've yelled it since being in nappies and their mother's said they don't know.
