One of the commentators on tennis tv always talks about young players having to learn how to lose to become a successful professional on the tour.

So you have a world #1 junior who just wins every match they play and then struggles mentally when they hit the main tour and can't do that any more.

Feli Lopez has just won his 500th ATP match and would be the poster child for the commentarors theory. Over the course of his career he is 500 wins and 466 losses. Positive win/loss record of only 34 matches over 23 years on tour. So obviously he has good weeks where he wins 3/4/5 matches to 1 loss which means ultimately the most common result across his career by an absolute mile would be a round 1 loss and as a player you need to dust yourself off and roll into the next tournament to go again. Lopez has won 7 titles and nearly $18 million in prize money so has had a good career.

Demon knows how to take advantage of a weak field, that is for sure.

Nothing really wrong with that.

Purcell backed up his Monfils win too to beat Seppi in 3 sets to make the semis. Pretty handy 90 points for him

I read on MTF someone said he would be ranked over 200 in the world without the COVID freeze on the rankings. Not sure on the accuracy but could believe.
He's tied for 226th in the race to the tour finals which only takes into account events that have happened in 2021. Kyrigos is tied for 191st and he's only played 2 events that's how bad Monfils is going.
