It’s ridiculous.
US open finishes then it’s straight in Davis Cup. Then ATP500s and 1000 this week.
Yep, completely absurd.

I follow the WTA more but someone like Swiatek has gone straight from the Seoul Open to the Wuhan Open and now the Ningbo tournament starts.

Forcing them to play these events are just insane. How do you want them to perform at their best when they're not getting decent recovery time.

I mean they’re not really forced to.
But the implications of keeping their 12 month ranking points is so huge.

The 4 grand slams are mandatory, as are the 10 x 1000 level tournaments.

They're then expected to play in at least another 6 x 500 level tournaments.

Realistically, they are kind of forced to.

Is Alex the biggest choker you ever seen?

Serving for the match at 5-3 against Mussetti in the 3rd at Nitto Finals and looses

Choked against Bublik at the French Open and blew a golden chance to make his first Semi Final against Filix.

He's now 16 losses in a row against top 10 players and 0-5 at Nitto Finals soon to be 0-6 when Fritz beats him.

Gotta hand it to Alex I thought he was no chance against Fritz especially beating him in straight sets what a turn around after that devastating loss to Mussetti

Watched the match last night Alex was unbelievable.

It was a very different Alex that we are used to seeing he was really aggressive the mind set was different he just focused on "I have to win"

I hope this win is the penny drop moment where he starts beating top 10 players

Didn't drop a set all the way to the final I think he entered the final on a 15 match winning streak

He's a freak Sinner can't see anyone else getting close to beating him other then Carlos

He also didn't lose a service game till he played Carlos (in the opening game of the second set)

He also was down a set point before coming back in the tiebreaker with several key lobs and drop shots.

The match could've gone either way.

That was half rumoured 6 months ago was on commentary in the US Open a bit thought that was strange
I didn't think he was that old, turns out he's not. Don't really recall him having a lot of issue with injury either.

Might just be a hunger thing.

Who knows but yeah, might see him do some doubles that's what they do these days.

I can't believe I'm writing this but... Leyton Hewitt has officially come out of retirement to play doubles with his son Cruz in the NSW Open challenger event. They play their first round match at approximately 1pm today and they've got a decent chance of winning given the quality of their opponents. Hard to believe that we're living in an era of professional sport that sees father-son combinations like Lleyton-Cruz and LeBron-Bronny playing together at the highest level.

solid

He played well. I sure he would like to do it at the AO as well.

You would think the plan for Cruz this AO would be Men's singles qualifying and then try to give him some exposure with a wildcard in the doubles with someone.

Yeah I suspect Cruz will get another men's singles wildcard (like this year) and play main draw doubles. Most likely with his father. Then he can have a real crack at winning the junior AO in his last attempt next year.

EDIT: Looks like Cruz and Lleyton will be playing doubles again next week.
