Djoko back to being a dumbarse, that first set was awful. That's the best I've seen Federer hit his forehand in a while, created some nice rallies inbetween Djoko's unforced errors. Stupid stream stuffed at 5-5 so i missed the game Djoko got broken, i assume a poor game from Novak?

Federer clear favourite for USO now, time to sleep now.

Nice confidence building run out for the Maestro. Anything can happen in sport but he is clear bookies fav now for the Open. Interesting to think that had he managed to avoid the virus last year he would now be well over 300 weeks and counting at number one.

lol oh so he can have the injury excuse but rafa cant? put it another way, he should never been number 1 if rafa didnt injure himself. And before you comeback with your strawman argument again, let me refresh your memory again, you are putting injury as an excuse above.Funny if i do the same, then all hell breaks loose:rolleyes:

Rafa doesn't have an injury or illness. He has a physical impairment which will be chronic and is caused by his need to overwork in order to compete with more talented players. His 46 weeks at Number one is reward for this willingness to sacrifice the long term for short term gain.

Contracting a virus is accident. Rafa's self induced and chronic knee problems are caused by his style of play and not accidental and are thus not comparable to Roger's virus. Only accidental illness stopped Roger being number one.

Congrats to Federer on his 16th Masters/1000s/whatever you wanna call them titles. Couldn't get up early enough to see it live, but sounds like the Federer of old showed up. Just in time for US Open! :thumbsu:

So that is technically an injury as well. This is vast amount of evidence i can put forward which can show that rogers present run was only cause of rafas injury. Whether you can it chronic or not doesnt matter.INJURY IS the reason why roger was able to win french and wimbledon. And you make another strawman comeback, i am just mentioning the same data point you are using to construct your argument.I can also say federer is really lucky in his career, he has never been injured or been sick.

Of course he has ben sick, he was last year but you are correct he has rarely if ever been injured. That however is not luck. it is consequent on the grace and smoothness with which he moves putting minimum stress on his body. As Agassi said a routine two set victory costs Rafa so much more than it costs Roger. Rafa is now beginnning th pay the price.

Anyway Rafa is sooooo yesterday. Gone to clay walloper heaven. On to the busines at hand Do you think Nole or Murray represents the biggest threat to the 6 in a row at NY?

haha will love it when you have the egg on your face again.Come back when your man is able to beat rafa consistently.

So you are saying if you dont have to work hard on points you wont get injured? what a ridiculous argument.Sampras often had very short points or 3 or 4 stroke rallies on an average and yet he got sick regularly as well. Federer is deadset lucky not to get injured and you are as usual denying the fact.

The fact still remains, injury is still an injury, evidence suggests as long as rafa was fit and healthy, he surpassed federer by a long long way (3,000 ranking points to be exact) and it only took rafas chornic ugly knee injury for fed to get back. You can construct your argument any way you want (saying rafa pushed himself or jumped from a mountain blah blah), but the fact remain, a fit and healthy rafa is too much for federer :thumbsu:

I agree a fit an healthy rafa is (was) too much for a virus ridden Federer whose 246 and counting weeks at number one are just down to luck.

Anyway Rafa is over and is now in clay walloper heaven chatting to Wilander and Lendl. Answer the question: Murray or Nole? Who s more likely to meet the Numero uno in the final?

lol virus. So the virus was there for 1 year? do you have any evidence for this? he said he had a back problem after aussie open which has got nothing to do with virus. He got the virus at the beginning of 2008. lol you are talking out of your arse again

He had a virus which frequently lays athletes low for many months as you well know. He was imperious before its effects and has been since.

evidence? nothing suggested he wasnt fully fit at aussie open. You are again making claims where you have absolutely no evidence.Keep going

2007 wimbledon, rafa almost made it but couldnt, cause he got injured, but ok not an excuse.2008 , he player superior tennis and outclasses federer and fed was injured.ROFL...your a riot mate

i find it funny that you can give rogers injury as an excuse but whenever i mention rafas injury, you say it had to happen? lol.. rafa was playing so much better tennis last year and earlier this year, he was 3,000 points ahead of anyone in the rankings.Evidence suggested if he remained healthy, there was no way he would have let go the number 1 ranking. Funny, the argument you are trying to construct is my exact same argument lol which works for fed but doesnt work for rafa.

And I thought i was clicking on this thread to read about the cincy masters, what a misunderstanding that was on my part.

The quicker people get over their bias the better. If you want to crap on about how much of tosser Federer is ... then start a new thread.

Last time i checked ... Federer did a number on Murray and Nadal barely raised a whimper against Novak. Ttereafter, Fed treated Novak with contempt ... another title to Federer.

what bias exactly? your friend GT blamed federers illness for the losses against rafa...yet if i say anything about rafas injury then thats a lame excuse? if rafa is fit and healthy, theres no way fed will be able to dominate like he did this year. FACT
