I'm certainly looking forward to Djokovic who is not only in the form of his life but also in top level superman mode, going against Nadal for the rest of the clay season. This FO will be very interesting to watch.

Wow. You sure have lost hope in your man (you still support him, right?) quickly. The GOAT at the peak of his powers doesn't stand a chance on his favourite surface? That's alarming.

i am not a one eyed moron like you.I admit Novak is playing out of this world at the moment.I will not rule out Rafa on clay, but going by form Novak is the favourite. What is so alarming in that? During Federers peak years ,Rafa was a rookie on grass and gave federer one hell of a go on grasscourts. Federer does not matchup well against Rafa, well all know that.Similarly Rafa does not matchup well against Novak.Wow shoot me for pointing out the obvious.I will be supporting Rafa ofcourse.

On another note: shall we just have a novak vs rafa french open final...or we need to go through the formalities again? :D i am looking forward to their French Open final...thats the only one that counts.

what a match going on atm...Muzza  is playing out of his skin and is now 2 service holds away from ending Novaks streak. Muzza has earned my respect now...what a display..but i hope as hell that Novak can come back and make it another Rafole final.

Sounds like that match between Moose and Nole was incredible. This streak is ****ing crazy, I'm so streaming the FO.

In other news Sharapova swept woz aside and will play Sam in the final. Woz is a non factor on clay so it may actually be better for Sam to play Sharapova for a bigger test. She would've smashed Caro off the court otherwise.

2009 AO final.

Using your own logical reasoning, was that embarrassing for Federer, especially since it was a 5 set tourney?

You thought I'd deny that it was? Why?

That was the most pitiful performance of Federer's entire career. Why do you think he was bawling his eyes out at the trophy ceremony? Calling that loss embarrassing is an understatement.

her record is shocking against maria, on clay however its a totally different story, if she plays the way she is playing this tournament she will win in straight. IMO she is the best clay courter on the womans circuit if shes playing well.

Just finished watching the match, gutsy, gutsy stuff from Djokovic. I have no idea how he pulled that one out, he was physically exhausted, a break down, 2 points away from a loss, and he somehow pulled it out. That’s just ridiculous mental toughness and shows what a complete player he has become in 2011.

Murray played incredible and I’ve always wondered why he wasn’t better on the clay. Thinking about it, his games suits the surface rather well, he’s got great defence, can retrieve anything, to me it’s more about his mindset and whether he’s up for the gruelling challenge. Reaching two clay Masters SF’s and taking a set off both Nadal and Djokovic says that he’s more than capable of being a dangerous player on this surface. I’m interested in seeing him at the French now.

Unfortunately tonight’s final will be a one-sided affair. Doesn’t help Djokovic that he was the night SF and he didn’t get off court until after 11pm. 3 hour match, 3rd week straight on the tour, Nadal will win comfortably tonight.

Fox Sports are showing the women's final LIVE!! Just about to start. :thumbsu:

Have not seen the Djoko Murray match but the scoreline suggests it was a classic. While Nadal goes in as the favourite you simply cannot discount Novak. He just cannot lose at the moment.

And look at the weather in Rome today. Cloudy and a bit of rain about. Courts nice and heavy which gives Novak a better chance in my opinion.

And really not liking the weather conditions for Sam tonight. She loves the dry court with high bounce, especially against Sharapova who she has a shocking record against. If she wins this one it would be a great win. Bloody rain, why does this happen in the final?

I'm only following a scOre, but surely at some stage Sam and her coach have to adress this playing tall girls thing. ffs try something different! I'm going to bed.

Too damn good. Looks like a Djokovic/Murray final is needed at RG if we want a proper contest :)

what about federer? :D why are you posting here anyway, your man is irrelevant to tennis now.I will go out on a limb and say Rafa def Nole at RG.As much as i like Nole..no human being can go undefeated that far.Congrats to Nole on his tremendous achievement..and federer sitting in basel is still counting his lucky stars...maybe more hewitts and roddicks and safins should play now so that he can win 30 :D

Unfortunate for Sam tonight. She did a great job making it to the finals and knocking off both Schiavone and Na in the process.

Good signs for the lead up to the French.

unfortunately her career record demonstrates that she is a non-winner - her strike rate in big matches is abysmally low. has another player of similar experience and high ranking ever won so few tournaments? does not have the heart/brain to win the French, but could well make the semis/final again (depending on draw)

Of course. A fatigued Djokovic? Perfect. A loss for Nadal would be embarrassing given the circumstances. Streak ends here.

Seriously, you are such a bitter bitter man mate.If you check my past posts about Novak, i have only congratulated him for winning.I am disappointed about rafa yes, but bitter or pissed? no.Nole is my 2nd favourite. You on the other hand is a bitter twit who refuses to accept that Noles peak is way better than federers peak. Its surreal to think someone will own Nadal on clay.I think nadal is more of a chance to beat Nole on hardcourts than claycourts. You are a clown cause you dont give him enough credit..the man doesnt have a weakness.. he can do what he likes.Federer on the otherhand has a weak backhand which can be broken down easily and he can never beat a fit rafa on clay.He blew less talented players off court with his superior talent but as soon as new generation came in..he fell off the peak...Get real, i accept Nole is a better player this year by a fair distance against every other player on tour.I wish him well.

No offence, but can you people give it a rest?

Looks like Rafa's RG title is under thread after that result, would've loved to have followed it but it was too late.

I guess all is not lost for Sam, she's hit some form at the right time but she has a serious case of the Colliewobbles and needs all tall girls on the other side of the draw and hope they knock each other out.:p

Just proves what I knew all along. You're a Federer hater more than a genuine fan of Nadal. The sole reason you became a 'supporter' is because he was the only man that could beat the player you hated most. This is why you couldn't care less about Nadal being surpassed and have no problems jumping onto the Djokovic bandwagon now that he looks like becoming the top dog. As long as it isn't Federer, right?

LOL so i am not a Rafa fan now rofl..just because i "admire" Nole? so dont you admire Wayne Carey? Lockett? Dunstall? Daicos? etc etc? does that make you a Sydney or a hawthorn fan? Djokovic is my 2nd favourite and will always be.I have family ties to Serbia, which makes it even more special for me but Rafa will always be my number 1.But i admire Noles achievement which your so called GOAT cant achieve. This generation >>>>> federers generation. As i said before, i am enjoying the rivalry as a tennis fan.You can try to spoil it for me but it wont work.I am very disappointed at 4 finals losses in a row..for sure but atleast its not in the hands of the fake GOAT...which is a bit comforting :)

You can go back to my posts from a year ago, you can see i have always had nice words for Nole.So there goes your bandwagoning argument..i dont say that about del potro or murray...did i?

Firstly, impressive week from Sam, although she got beat pretty easily in the final, the matchup and plus the fact that she was sick, can't really blame the loss and now looks to be ready form wise heading into the French Open, hopefully the pressure doesn't get to her too much because this week was a turning point (along with Stuttgart). Sharapova has put herself in with a shot at the French now, although Clijsters has confirmed she is playing.

Now, to this incredible tennis that Djokovic contiunes to play. the Djokovic/Murray probably was the match of the year so far, rallies were of an incredible length considering how long the match is. There is really nothing more you can say about Nole's dominace, he basically has everyone on every single part of the game at the moment. The only thing Rafa could of done in this final, was give the ball a bit less air, he gave Nole a few too many "moonballs" that could of be attacked as Nole is hitting the ball so cleanly at the moment, they just can't be given like that.

French should be very interesting.
