Seeing as it's on the Coast this year, thought I might go along. Does anyone know the process of getting tickets?
The last couple of years the local clubs (GC/Brisbane, then Sydney/GWS) and the local AFL organization (AFLQ, AFLNSW) have given out tickets. Keep an eye on those for starters.

Definitely interested in going as well. Might post this on our board to see if anyone else has an idea how to get tickets.

Yes it will be, not sure if Fox Footy or just Fox Sports though.
Seeing as Fox Footy is shut down over the off-season, I'd be surprised to see them re-launch the channel just for the draft. It'll be on fox sports 1 almost undoubtedly I reckon.

Still no news on tickets. E-mailed the Suns but haven't heard back. Might contact a few others when we actually get into the off season.

I'm a sydney based Richmond member and I received an email from the club last year about tickets if I remember correctly. Once you know who to contact you just apply and get them. So I should imagine all Qld based members of AFL clubs will be contacted.

EDIT - I just checked my old emails and it was AFL NSW I got an email, not until late October.

Rhett Bartlett (former Foxtel employee/Son of Kevin) believes FoxFooty will now stay open for the off season.

Hopefully they took on the advice and don't do the countdown from 10 again. Unbearable.

Great news if they do. So much that can be covered over the off season. I'd love a weekly trade edition of 360 including a wrap up at the end, and then a bit from each list manager about what they thought of the period and how their list is now. Something pretty similar in terms of club by club coverage post draft would be cool too, and I'd imagine not hard to do.

Cheers for that, I'll keep an eye out.

I went to last year's, I think I got the ticket by registering through AFL ACT/NSW's website. To be honest, it's pretty boring if you don't follow junior footy and have no idea who the players are or whether a club has picked up a smokey.

I've got a vague idea of the juniors coming through, but realise it may be a little dull (or at least, dull compared to watching it on TV and dissecting on here). Thought it'd be great to go along once and see what it's like though.

For anyone interested, this is the reply I got from AFLQ today:

Hi, thanks for your enquiry. Tickets for the 2012 National Draft to be held on the Gold Coast are not available yet. There will be information released on how to secure tickets once preparation is completed. This is expected to be about two weeks after the Grand Final.
