I like 16, but I think it might be a tad expensive.

Yeah was wondering about that. I would have no clue as to how much these items might be. Ball parks anyone? WCS, do you know?

I suppose the signed piece is always going to be more expensive than just a print, but by how much?

Never been to an auction myself but was looking at buying a couple of pushbikes from the police Auction and I found that one.

Auctions are fun! and a good way to grab a bargain or two*
I just wouldn't have a clue about what Eagles memorabilia costs. The only stuff you usually see is complete crap in places like Superstars and Legends. You know, a picture cut out of the Record, block mounted with a plaque and signature for $400. No thanks.

* just make sure you know where the auction house stands re: GST and buyers premiums: they can take a bite out of you!

Well I went along for a look to see how it went.

West Coast Eagles 1987 team -
$40.00 Not bad for the inaugural team I thought

West Coast Eagles 1988 team - $45.00
West Coast Eagles 1991 team - $45.00
West Coast Eagles 1992 team (3 signatures) - $75.00
West Coast Eagles 1996 team - $55.00
West Coast Eagles 1995 team - $55.00
Framed signed print - West Coast Eagles 1994 team - $125.00
West Coast Eagles 1994 Premiership team - $145.00
West Coast Eagles 1992 Premiership team - $175.00

All bought by some short pudgy man with his trousers up around his rib cage.

West Coast Streaker, could you describe the items to me, specifically the Premiership ones? Were they just the premiership team posters, framed?

What about the signed 94 one?

They were just framed prints of the team with the Premiership Cup in front of them. They had a little plaque on them but I didn't really look to see what it said. The 94 signed one was the whole team with signatures signed on the front of their jumpers.

Interesting... I have a 1992 football signed by the Eagles squad 3 weeks before their first premiership... and I had it valued by Superstars and Legends at $800 a few years back... so these prices seem pretty cheap.

Stuff is worth nothing unless it is signed.

I have this year's team poster signed by the entire squad, framed and mounted. I'm about to pick up a '92 premiership poster signed by Sumich, Worsfold, Mainy and a couple of others. You are talking much more serious dollars with this stuff.

Not being a collector or even knowing much about memorabilia, I thought these blokes were crazy paying that much for a poster in a frame. When you consider this bloke got the 94 framed print with all signatures for only $125.00, I guess you could say he got a bargain. I think the memorabilia shops present their stuff a bit better but if this bloke got it reframed he would make a quid or two.

The real money lies in merchandise associated with significant events. I imagine every football supporting kid in the country has memorabilia signed by club players, so don't bank of your memorabilia's perceived networth being anywhere near it real value.

Get your hands on one of those game guernseys they are selling on the eagles website. Particularly if you can pick a significant game (e.g. Judd's 50th game). If he becomes a legend of the club that guernsey will be worth a pretty penny. Having said that, it'll set you back a fair bit initially too.
