Lol @ the $1.30 shot Reus in the 1st at Lismore. Went $2 into $1.50 after a huge plunge at about 11am, hits an insurmountable lead at the 100 and then ran around like a drunken sailor and threw it away.
I'd always lay a $1.30 chance in these weekday meetings, we aren't talking about a group 1 star here, $1.30 is stupidly short in these largely unknown races, with these mediocre or unproven horses.

Don't think I've laughed this hard at an hour of racing in my life. Orson $4.60 into $2.60, waits 3 and a half hours in the gates for the other spuds, rares 8 foot into the air before the jump, misses the start, goes like a crab

Anyone apart from contrarian liefsy think

a) the second horse wasn't a certainty beat
b) it was as equally unlucky to lose as Sesar

I'll wait

The horse that won couldn't get out for at least three quarters of the straight?

In fact, he had to ride hands and heels to the line still due to a lack of room?

What in the world were you talking about?

LOL the Urbie rules.

What sort of stupid rule is "earned 20K winning / placing in a flat race"? That brings pretty much every horse who's won a BM70 into the mix

Ludicrously soft rule - basically only knocks out country horses.

How did you fare today at Broome?
I understand all jockeys rode to the best of their ability

So basically last year under same rules would be out: urban ruler, in: te akau shark, Le Romain.

That’s ok. Steady tweaks each year until they get the product right is much better than steep overreactions off the first year. It needs to retain some sort of popularity contest. Average horses will (and should) always get in.

Just have to think this is half advertising and spreading demographics, and the other half racing. None of these pop up races have the purists in love.

And everything I’ve owned

Haha - that's how I knew it only ruled it out country horses - my first thought was surely even mine has one $20k at some stage - not to be :(
