good news

no more blue comments from Yendall. Today at least

Vic jockeys putting a media ban on.

Now to put a media ban on Wayne Hawkes

Time honoured Sussex Stakes at Goodwood tonight which is generally the first time the best 3yo milers meet the older horses. This looks a very ordinary renewal with the older horses especially looking pretty gash. That leaves it to the 3yos to fight it out and while the undefeated Without Parole looks the class runner I actually thought EXPERT EYE'S win at Royal Ascot was far more dominant. He was reasonably well fancied for the Guineas and I think on his best form can win this.

After his run last night wonder how So Beloved will go on the Sussex stakes

They could run the Sussex stakes for another 1000 years and it wouldn't be good enough to win one.

Picked the right 3yo but FML Lightning Spear? English racing plz!

Moronic Winx owners have given up the holy Mile trinity over there - she would have won the Lockinge/Queen Anne/Sussex in an absolute canter

The time honored NASSAU for the girls at Goodwood tonight. Again looks a very underwhelming renewal with only 6 lining up and no Alpha Centauri. WILD ILLUSION has been Aidened at her last two starts (Magic Wand - more like Magic milkshake - lel) but has hardly put a foot wrong this prep with a 4th in the 1000 Guineas a 2nd in the Oaks and a 2nd at Royal Ascot. That looks more than good enough form to win this and the 4/1 currently on offer looks attractive.

The VRC are planning the official opening of the new Members stand to be in Cup week this Spring. They’re giving members a “taster” on September 15.

Ambitious officially opening during the busiest time of the year. That opens the possibilties of a number of issues arising that they may not be prepared for. Under-staff? Under-catering? Misjudging the room spaces and where Punters will likely gravitate to?

Hope it all goes smoothly.

No one goes outside of Cup week anyway so thats the only way to properly test it. Having it open on New Years day with 1000 people there won't tell you anything.

another reason why the racing industry has no clue how to attract people to the races. Good on them for looking at the members, but the average Joe couldnt give a s**t and it wont attract them to the races. Build an entertainment centre for everyone !
