Aus A squad Ashes camp in NZ

Oh no , not another injury when he was a sniff for an Ashes berth. Plus he'd have been ideal in Kiwi conditions. Buckingham, wasn't he dropped from the spiders attack late season. How the hell have Matthew Kelly or Will Sutherland been overlooked. I'd even have Chris Tremain but that is my Blues bias at work.
Sutherland has signed with Essex and they already said they're not picking guys who have county deals given this tour is only so they can get used to playing with a Dukes ball in English-like conditions.

I can not see any news of this, not even on WACA website. Hope it is wrong. If so then Paris misses a golden chance to make the Ashes squad as his specialist swing is ideal for English conditions. Can Buckingham even swing the ball. I know one bloke that can Nick Winter, just been delisted by SA. He made merry back in the days when we used the Dukes ball in the Shield. If I recall correctly he took four 5fors on the trot.

No idea how Steketee hasn't made this squad. 70 wickets at 18 the last 2 shield seasons, 3rd highest wicket taker this season and highest last. Doesn't have a county deal as far as I can find.

WA and injury plagued fast bowlers, name a more iconic duo.
Paris would have played Test cricket but for his many injuries. We know that Richardson was an automatic selection if fit, but has now probably dropped down the pecking order as is seen a liability. Matthew Kelly seems to stay fit, deserved to have Paris' spot in the Aussie A attack.

I expect the boys have now crossed the ditch.

I think they might be leaving out guys who played county cricket last year too. Kelly played for Northamptonshire (was poor) and Steketee played for Essex (was less poor but still not great).

Yeah I'm not sure either, but if you're picking blokes on Shield form he has to be in the frame to get a shot. He's still very young, I'm sure he'll continue to develop
Needs to learn to get off the pitch ...got called twice for running on the wicket...and work on the ball going away to the slips ..bowls too much ducking it back

But sure he will work it out great young prospect for aussie cricket

I live in Christchurch, 20 mins away from the Uni town of Lincoln, where these matches will be played....currently raining here in ChCh, though clearing up for around lunch time. Picturesque ground, similar to Hagley Oval in ChCh.

Might be a delayed start, but definitely heading down for a nosey to see the likes of future Aust players in Hardie, Wyllie, Kellaway and Perry showcase their talents, plus others within the team too.

Last time I watched a match from Lincoln was the 2010 U19 World Cup with the Likes of Josh Hazlewood, Adam Zampa and Mitch Marsh who was skipper. Aussie boys won it that year.

Henry Cooper, Sean Solia, Dean Foxcroft, Cole McConchie, Thomas Bruce (c) Robert O'Donnell, Cameron Fletcher (wk), Doug Bracewell, Scott Kuggeleijn, Ajaz Patel, Jacob Duffy
That is the Aussie top Top three I wanted too. L'R opening combo makes sense, specially if we are sent in first.

Still looking pretty gloomy here, rain easing off though....hopefully some play prior or post tea....

Think the Aust attack is way better then the Kiwi's, regardless of home conditions....have every confidence the Aust A team will do the business.

Beautiful day now, sun out, different country all together....typical Canterbury weather .....hopefully the Aust A batsmen can score a few.

Wyllie needs to learn composure not flash at wide shorties such as the one that cost him his wicket. No doubt nerves played a part so his coach may be lenient. Still, the 18 year old has masses of potential.

Renshaw 92* Ward 38* takes the Aussie boys to 1-155 at stumps. Another 8 runs plus may put Renners in Warners plane seat to England.

Renshaw brings up his century. CA need to now bite the bullet re Warner. Renners is in form and has a good record in England county. Ward in a return to form with a composed 75.

Jimmy P looking good, with his current cameo. Declare at 400 perhaps? ...and then have a dart at the NZ batting line up in the last session. Can see some early wickets falling before stumps.
