What the **** would they be bringing up what the ANZACS fought for at a protest supposedly about cost of living and housing shortage??

It’s a bit politically incorrect to say nowadays, but the rhetoric and reasons used for sending Australian soldiers to fight as a part of the British empire largely revolved around the need to protect the White Australia Policy.

The WAP wasn’t just the first piece of legislation passed by this nation’s parliament, it was this nation’s biggest selling point for the first half of the 20th century. All the early PMs on both sides of politics bragged about how Australia was the nation of “pure white British stock” and if British people, in the early 1900s starting to see a rise in subcontinent, African and Caribbean migration from British colonies, didn’t like the “new Britain” come to a country that was “pure British”, Australia.

They harnessed this thinking into a rallying call against the “Yellow peril” (if we help Britain fight the Muslim Turks at Gallipoli they’ll help us fight the Chinese or Japanese if they threaten good ol’ white Australia).

The spirit of Australia, the spirit of our race, the spirit that has made free men, that has carved out the Empire and that alone can hold this country a White Australia and a free government. (Loud Cheers) ... If Britain wins and we stand with her, the White Australia policy is forever safe.

If it's any consolation an ex crim who I listen to on YT (The Chaos Chronicles, great listen) reckons Sewell is in a lot of trouble in prison. Firstly he's been locked up by himself without mates and the desecration of the First Nations protest camp will piss off the Kooris, they can be very violent.

This is not to mention the other non white groups in prison who will all be itching to have a crack at him apparently, so he's going to find it tough in there.

I'm certainly not a history buff but have read similar things.

My remark was referring more to the fact that this was supposedly meant to be a protest about the housing crisis (of which there is), a cost of living crisis (of which there is) and a mass migration crisis (for Australian standards the migration is high but it certainly isn't mass migration, particularly compared to other parts of the world).

Why would these folks bring up things like what the ANZACs fought for or foreign faces staring at us in hostility, making the neighbourhoods we grew up in unrecognisable if the protest was about the above mentioned issues.

This is not even considering what the nazis spoke about.

One would only bring those things up if the protest actually wasn't about housing, cost of living and migration levels. Because none of those things are related even to waving thousands of Aussie flags, let alone talking about ANZACs and old neighbourhoods of yore.

My knowledge is from the Youtuber I mentioned earlier, he said that every prisoner goes for assessment first which is a few weeks usually. Think it's usually Ravenhall, from there they get classified to max, medium or low security or whatever, then they go to their jail. There is a difference between prison and jail, one is the classification bit and one is the final destination, can't remember which is which.

But once he's out of classification he probably goes into solitary. There are ways to get at people in there though, and apparently stuff like this is easier to do at a private as opposed to government prison.

It’s interesting as a lot of these white supremacists have criminal records. I was under the impression they basically join Aryan skinhead gangs for protection in prisons, or is that more of a USA thing?
